A lovely place to stay. Beautiful grounds, a little store for those missed necessities and extremely helpful owners. They have local points of interest, trails, covered bridges information posted for day trips exploration. Will be going back.
On one their busiest weeks our stay went flawlessly. Very peaceful and beautiful setti g. Owners gracious and helpful. Will definitely return.
TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE Nestled between the town dump and a busy highway, this is no natural environment for camping. The sites are basically in a parking lot with ZERO privacy between sites. The noise from the highway is constant and distracting.
Also, the owner, Chuck, is a complete asshat who has no clue how to run a business or communicate with people.
There are many VT, MA, & NH state parks nearby that offer a much better camping experience. Do yourself a favor and visit one of those.
My wife and I spent three sunny days and four peaceful nights at this quiet well maintained CG. The location enabled us to ride our bikes 6 miles directly from camp to a rail/trail that brought us to Keene, a quaint lovely town with lots of restaurants. Many hiking trails are nearby from easy to challenging. We have a travel trailer and the site was level with all hook ups convenient. We are definitely coming back this little CG jewel. The owner Chuck was friendly and provided area info when asked.
Great place for all.
Came here with our young family of 4 for a 3 night stay. The owners are so friendly and work very hard to make sure everyone is having fun. The game room is very roomy and has excellent activities for everyone. The river access is easy and next time were planning on canoeing. We have already planned on returning this year with more visits to come. Can't say enough about this place. Clean clean clean! Thank you for a great stay.
Chuck and Laura have really made this campground into a phenomenal place to visit! The past three years myself and a group of friends visit at some point during the summer for fun in the sun. We try to take advantage of all that ARC offers for its visitors; the vast field with horseshoe pits, the badminton and volley ball courts, the small trail network that surrounds the campground, and of course the canoe and kayak shuttle services they run. We go canoeing and kayaking every year and have such a blast! There is a two hour, and a four hour, paddle up the Ashuelot River - there are a couple swimming holes, fishing, and loads of wildlife along the banks of the river. Definitely recommend calling to make reservations early as this place is increasing in popularity! Try it out and you will not be disappointed!
Super friendly staff, very accommodating. Recognized us as first-timers, and went out of their way to give great customer service. The camp is bordered by a real, lazy river (lazy as in almost no current at all) -- perfect for tubing or kayaking. There are some really great hiking trails, both on the property or with trailheads a short drive away. The camp has a mix of open field and more secluded lots, many of which are river front sites. The bathroom is clean and well-kept. Sounds like the perfect 5-star campground and it would be if not for one thing: it's close proximity to Route 10. The highway is a surprisingly busy and loud thoroughfare, and it's noise will become part of your camping experience.
All in all, a good place to camp -- will likely go again -- but a little too loud and noisy to make our list of "favorite places to camp".
This is an amazing place to stay, the owners are super friendly and very helpful and the facilities are clean and tidy. We stayed in a river front tent site and rented a canoe to go up river a bit while we were there. We also have kids and they enjoyed the playground and splashing in the river. We will most certainly be back!
Very nice place to camp/RV. New owners, Chuck and his wife, in the 2 years have cleaned this place up quite a bit and added more RV sites with E/W/S which is a big plus. And there are plans to upgrade some of the existing sites with more amenities in the future. RV sites are well spaced, tent sites along the river are very private. Bathrooms are clean and nice open space for kids to play. Would definitely stay again if in the area.
A wonderful, quiet campground. The owners are friendly and helpful. The restrooms and showers are clean. The office has convenient hours, and stocks ice and other essentials at reasonable prices. We bought inflatable tubes right at the office and spent the hot days floating in the river, which was right next to our campsite. I will definitely be returning and will recommend this campground to my friends and family.
