Stayed here for a weekend church event. Nice amenities at a good price. A cabin with a kitchen is cost savings!

The campground is nicely maintained and the camp sites are decent. They do allow hammocks here. The tent camping sites are spread out enough so that you don't feel like you are camping with strangers.

Office staff was inexperienced and not friendly. Our campsite was not what we reserved being too near the road and traffic. We do not recommend this place if your looking for hospitality and a nice camping experience.

Had an absolute blast. Campground near so many great hikes. Bathrooms are fine not really sure why people have problems with them. They were suitable and great considering the number that use them and the fact that you're literally camping. Staff thorough, friendly and accommodating. Would highly recommend a group stay or a small grp!!

What a nasty place: delapadated bath houses, so dirty, randomly has soap in the restrooms. The newly remodeled tent area bath house has a strong sewer smell and one of the showers doesn't drain. Laundry room hasn't been sweeper out ever.
One of the worst run, managed campgrounds we've
visited in our cross country trips. The roads are a disaster, our rv site was so unlevel and narrowest we've seen. The only reason I have them one star was it had nice views and close to Boone.

Nice camp sites. We have been to several campgrounds over the years. This by far was the worse maintained restrooms and showers I have seen. I even spoke with someone about it and still bathrooms were not cleaned. We left a day early because of the bathrooms.

I had looked at reviews and the number one complaint were the bathrooms. The bathroom that is near my rv is very nice and kept clean. Of course you should always wear shower shoes. I dislike that the area is not elevated to where you have a beautiful view. Normally I stay on Roan Mountain but my family chose Grandfather campground to stay. There is Wi-Fi, a place to buy ice and small essentials. There is plenty of cell service too. So if you are on vacation but still need to be readily available this is a great spot. It is close to many activities like Linville Caverns, Grandfather Mountain, and Lees-McRae University.

The bathrooms were a mess. We like poop on the walls kind of a mess. They also charge me $3 a night per child and I have three children. To sleep in their own camper. It was an extra $27 just to bring my own children with me camping. And they had nothing but $100 swing set there. If you're going to charge people to bring kids have something for the kids to do. Then they had multiple empty cabins to where my in-laws could not rent because they had a service dog with them. No pets allowed. Is a service dog a pet? I can assure you me and the family will not return there.

Loved camping there. The staff was great very helpful. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars was do to the bathrooms at our end was under construction an we had a way to go to the other area. But I bet it will look great when done.
