Love this place, cuz I can get 5&7 year sharp cheddar cheese that tastes identical to my favorite home state of WI! Awesome venison summer sausage too.

Their cheese and other items make perfect gifts throughout the year. If you want to put a smile on someone's face, give them a bag of "squeaky cheese". You can sample squeaky cheese there too!

Love this place. I have been coming here since I was a child. Large selection of cheeses and other things. Great ice cream and fudge. Also you can watch them make cheese across the street.

Fun, family friendly place to visit. Learned a lot about how cheese is made. Bought several Christmas baskets, plus a few goodies for us. Definitely will be back. Offers a variety of foods besides cheese, including fudge, candy, summer sausage, jams, wine, seasonings, sauces, and more.

Very cool watching how cheese is made. The store is filled with lots of on site made cheese and a variety of other items like gifts and candy by the lb. The viewing of the the factory is until 1pm.

Always enjoy a stop here tasting samples and purchasing local made cheese. That's not all they have! Candies, wines, cookbooks and walk across the and watch cheese being made! A must see!!

Awesome cheese wish that the cashier's attitude could have been as nice.
I go there for hoop cheese, I'm out of it already and need to go get some more.
It is so very good.
I tried a few of the other cheeses they had there and they were pretty good too, but I came the to buy the hoop cheese which around here is hard to find, so I am very very very happy that Ashe County Cheese had my Hoopy that's what we call hoop cheese. That is among the best I have ever had, my uncle having had a cheese store that is a compliment.response / report this review -

Very interesting to see the cheese made and to find out how much milk is used on a daily basis. The retail store was great, lots of products. I wasn't sure about a certain flavor of cheese so I asked for a sample and was gladly given one. Came home with 3 new blocks of cheese, now I need to get some crackers.

Our family has enjoyed the cheese factory for years. We always try to stop in when we are in the area. The store has been expanded and it is always fun to check out the viewing room where you can see the cheese making in process.

Great place. Lots of neat stuff. Samples. And they have homemade fudge and ice cream also. You can cross the street to cheese plant and watch cheese being made.

Homemade ice cream! I haven't tasted anything so good since I was a child. Local cheese, jams, preserves, and more. The maple but candy and cheese curds are fantastic
