This is a small aquarium, but worth the visit. The staff members are nice are great at providing information on the animals. When we went, there was construction in the areas, but the large parking garage across the street provided a quick and easy access to the aquarium. There are neat outdoor exhibits where you can touch some sharks and the indoor jelly fish are beautiful! Their little movie show is outdated, but still has great information.
Took my 10 and 14 year old nieces here today. We all had a great time! Very educational and interactive, in a way that was interesting to all of us. Beautiful animals and exhibits along with friendly and knowledgeable staff made for a great visit! And the folks at the photo counter were great and we ended up taking home some cute and funny pictures!
This place is great. I went for the first time the day after Thanksgiving and it was busy but not crazy crowded. The exhibits are fantastic and so are the shows. An added Bonus, if you are a Chase Private Client and you have the arts and entertainment card you get free admission for two. Pretty great as the aquarium is not inexpensive. I can't wait to go back and spend a lot more time looking at the Jellyfish.
This is truly a fantastic aquarium. My boyfriend and I went here for a day and were pleased with our experience. There are several touch tanks for those who want to interact with the fish, beautiful, well thought out exhibits featuring a huge variety of different fish, and my favorite, the interactive parrot walk through. You can go and have little parrots just land on you - it's so much fun. The staff were very knowledgeable and kind and the facility was clean and well-maintained. I recommend paying the extra few dollars to do the harbor cruise as well. It's overall a really great time.
I love coming here! The exhibits are great for both adults and children. Information is provided to every exhibit, they have a section outside which is a nice change of environment.
The only problem I had, was that they have grown in popularity and it gets overly crowded everywhere. Definitely not enough space for adults to enjoy the exhibit, if they are coming to learn and take their time. This is unfortunate especially on the weekends as it is hard to move through literally squeezing though families and strollers to move to the next exhibit. I'd advise adults without children to arrive extra early or attend during the weekdays as the walk ways are LITERALLY flooded with families.
If you have kids however, this is a great place to take them!! Bring comfortable shoes for yourself and the little ones, try to keep them with you. It's easy to lose a child with all the chaos.
Beautiful and amazing! Fun for the entire family! We went on a Thursday so it was not crowded. We were able to take our time and enjoy seeing all the different critters. Informational and interactive. Extremely friendly and knowledgeable staff! Highly recommend!
So many exhibits. And the kids loved it because they had so many touch pools and little presentations you could watch/ listen to. We enjoyed feeding the birds so much. It's free to walk through the bird cage but you have to pay to free them. We loved all of it, took us almost 3 hours.
Great family activity for reasonable price. Don't plan on eating there, it gets busy and service is slow, food not great. Eat at one of the many restaurants nearby. Kids love to play in the outdoor play area, with water streams to cool off and animal figures to climb on. If you have time, you can also get a Queen Mary ticket with your Aquarium ticket for a discount. They're right next to each other and parking is good for the day.
I love the animals here! You learn a lot and there are several interactive activities and petting opportunities. The animals are beautiful!!!! The staff was so friendly and knowledgeable. They were great! As a bonus, they have pretty good coffee :) My husband and I came to the aquarium for the evening on our anniversary and it was such a great experience. Anytime I get to be around animals and water I'm happy. Plus, you feel good that what you spend helps the animals. So stop on by!
Lots to do and learn for kids and adults at the aquarium. Exhibits focus on conservation, and make you appreciate the diversity of marine life. They have scheduled live educational puppet shows for the kids, again, focused on conservation. A snack bar and a cafeteria-style food area in the building allows you to snack/have lunch to replenish energies and continue exploring. Highly recommend. Also, if you're a family of 4, and plan on visiting more than once, an annual pass is worth it (it pays for itself if you visit twice).
I've been here twice! My godson loved it. My favorite part is when you get to touch the jellyfish and sting rays. Has a variety of fish to see On the weekend it's a little more crowed so patience is a must. During the week is when I prefer to go, less crowd. It has a few areas for the kids to play and let loose which gives the adults a chance to take a break.
My son had a blast! The only down side is how packed it can get. Lots of lines to see the good stuff. Has to squeeze through people to catch a glimpse of the sharks. Overall good aquarium if you go at the right time.
there's soo many cool and interesting little aqua critters. but for the love of god and or science DON'T TOUCH THE GLASS. it's so unbelievably dirty and disgusting. especially if there's children around. the glass isn't opaque it's filthy. aside from that the info pamphlet that u get is actually kinda cool and full of interesting facts plus they got this little area where u can stamp the pages after you've read up on the specific critters. overall a cool thing to do and place to visit.
I am from the S.F. bay area and have gone to a few really nice aquariums. This aquarium is by far the best aquarium I have ever been to. You can touch stingrays, the tops of jellyfish, tidepool creatures, and sharks here! There are so many exhibits it took five hours for us to get through everything which made it so worth it. Plus, they have a discount with AAA and even without it, it's cheaper than other aquariums that are not even as nice. Their gift shop is awesome and has so many types of souvenirs as well as home decor in all different themes. You will be amazed at how many sea creatures and animals they have here.
I had a great time here with my boyfriend. We got to pet and touch the sting rays which was pretty awesome. The ONLY reason I'm giving this place a 3 star is that I was expecting a lot more. I didn't realize this place was so tiny. I really loved the jellyfish and the otters the most. We took our time and looked at EVERYTHING. But I think we finished it all in one hour which I was a little sad about. Overall a good experience but if you have the time to go the distance I'd rather go somewhere a bit bigger.
