I've been buying Apple for years -- trust me, this is like NO other store. The people here enjoy making you wait and suffer through the process of getting necessary parts fixed. DIRECT quote the manager "I understand your computer has water on it and you have months of final projects, but I don't care about that, if someone has a dead pixel, I will fix that first." RYAN is a TERRIBLE TERRIBLE person. He recovered 1/10 of my information for work and then threatened to delete it all if I didn't pay him. I am in contact with customer relations as he does not deserve to have that job. Avoid him at ALL costs. Try to talk to Carrie or Justin. They were helpful. They did not provide a repair or case ID, like any store (not even Apple) does. I promise you will not have a good experience here.

Honestly they judge you here. They treat you like a criminal and a liar!I have an iPhone 7 Plus 256gb with a severe microphone and speaker issue. WHY would I take time from my important day, and bring my cosmetically perfect and pristine phone in if there is not a real problemWHY WOULD I TAKE TIME FROM MY PRECIOUS IMPORTANT DAY TO WASTE IT AT THE APPLE STORE IF THERE IS NOT REALLY A PROBLEM. “Lauren” if that’s his name claimed he was replacing my phone as a courtesyit is not a courtesy it is a damn policy I have limited warranty AND Apple care plus! pathetic! Apple you need to realize people have important things to do and nobody is going to LIE and waste their precious time to pretend their phone is broken. I spent $1000 plus $100 for Apple care plus to have to bring a phone in for service but I have to prove the problem! what are your employees for? Are they not capable of providing customer support???? NEVER STEPPING FOOT IN HERE AGAIN! Customer since 2009! Not sure what happened but let me tell you the policy used to be excellent, not a demonstration to prove your problem.

Very friendly staff and exceptional service. The staff certainly went above and beyond to help even past closing time. I highly recommend this location.

Pro tip, use the Apple store app to find out information about products, make appointments, sign up for a class, and make purchases on your own.

Incredibly helpful staff- fixed my girlfriend's Mac on two separate occasions within the same month and made us feel taken care of while doing it.

If you find yourself with a long wait time, it's probably because they give each customer their undivided attention.

Specifically, Ben at the Genius Bar was professional and was clearly very knowledgeable.

Would give more than 5/5 if it was possible.

Totally agree with Omega and Michael. Their first point is always that the customer is wrong and must have done something to the product. You will always see at least 10 store employees just talking amongst themselves and hanging out, i.e. busy doing nothing..! Taking an appointment is meaningless. The best thing to get attention is talk directly to the store manager and also yell loudly to get the attention of other shoppers to show them what is going on. Hopefully Tim Cook and team is looking into customer service issues.

Long story short, I had a firmware crash on my new mac book air, was accused of stealing the machine, even though it showed on my Apple id. Was told if I can provide the proof of purchase, they can unlock in minutes. Provided the information needed, then was told 3-5 days. I am on day 9 with no phone call or no update on the repair. Grad student and I rely heavily on my system to work so that I can write my papers. I could understand if I am kept in the loop or even offered a loaner machine, but there has been no contact at all. Poor customer service, understaffed, or need more people to be versed in multiple products. Popular location but rude management. Worst experience ever, will drive to Schaumburg or try the downtown Michigan store next time. There is really 50/50 chance you will get what you need in the old orchard store.

I went in today wanting to make a purchase. As I walked in I see that most of the employees were among one another just talking to each other. Aside from two employees greeting people. I talked to someone who just sent me to someone else, he told me his name and pointed as if I knew where or who he was. It would've taken him less than a minute to walk me to him, but he did not do that. I simply walked away and tried to see if anyone else could assist me. At the end I just left and ordered what I wanted online.

Forget all other reviews as some are written out of frustration, targeting wait times and such, however, as true as these negative reviews may be, it is just something we must endure with whatever, or whenever we may need assistance. Having said that I will review my experiences at this location, Apple Old Orchard, which began upon the release of the very first I Phone, so visits have been many over the years. Whether it is a purchase, a problem, questions, or occasionally me arriving late for a Genius Bar appointment, the results have always been, with one exception, a positive experience, and if it wasn't for this 1 isolated female rep, my review would read perfectly, but overall, this location to me deserves 5 stars. So yes I understand others anger, which I did feel and I did share with the mgr on duty who said thanks, that I wasn't the first that day to voice my descention herwith a product or an issue just like the next normal person, but that was between me and the product, not an agent or the industry. Every experience I have had has of course, required a tech or representative to assist me. Each visit I was always, with rare exception, met by a different rep, and what I find is that every single one of these reps had a similar approach, friendly and calm with a handshake and their name, accompanied by a business card, before asking what brought me to Apple. It never seemed contrived or rehearsed, absolutely no condescendence, but exuded calmness, an attribute I believe all can appreciate, certaInly at a time of frustration. Once my issue is stated, the rep always provides the possible cause and remedy for said issue. If for some reason the remedy isn’t covered due to an expired warranty, they have always checked the history, and replaced or repaired the device, and sometimes I must pay like when I knocked my phone from the bathroom sink into the commode, which contained only water, but still affected my phone, and when it happened I immediately dashed the 11 miles down the expressway to the store which was closing in 45 minutes, and upon arrival, i learned I was due for an upgrade after an ATT notification which is required to do so, and naturally that meant the next day since that can only be accomplished during daytime hours, but I was leaving the next day for several days.so, time's awastin', store closes in 15 minutes, so what can I do? I reached down deeper into my pocket and pulled out necessary cash to BUY a new 64 gb 6 plus with a year of Apple Care, and as much as it hurt, I produced the necessary currency, ($900) and now was happy. They could have said it was too late because they were closing, but they didn't and 10 minutes after the store was closed, I left with a phone, so thank you for that. Suffice it to be said, I am one happy customer and appreciate that Apple ensures this quality to the consumer.

My experience with this Apple store was positive. On the day I visited, I had a frustrating experience with my iPhone 6, but the guy I met at the store helped me fix the problem (without pay). He truly knows the job. He was very professional and friendly. I also noticed, at the time I was there,
that the other customers who came to the store were given attention.

I had a iPhone 6 plus battery problem and they made this a big deal and were going to charge me $329. I went to different store which was done for $75. Very disappointed. Their employees give misleading information and have no knowledge
