This facility is one of the best around. They care so much about your animals the veterinary hospital is right next door they are wonderful people who do wonderful work and I cannot rate this High Enough .

Surprisingly lovely facility and the dogs seemed well cared for. The staff was caring and the attention to detail is pretty astounding. The work they do and the quality with which they do it is really inspiring.

One of the best animal shelters I have been to. They work closely with the city and are a no kill shelter for animals that are not violent or too sick to recover. The facility is very clean and segregated for cats and dogs.

We went here to purchase our pet. We signed in and sat around waiting to be called for 30 mins + before I finally went up to ask for help because the employees were sitting around chatting, yet one other person was being helped. Then they referred me to another building all together. So we finally got to the cat building where we told them the name of the animal we saw online and wanted to see. She proceeded to show us every other animal instead. When we finally insisted on viewing the original one, it was the one we fell in love with. Little did we know just because we purchased an animal there doesn't mean you can go back for veterinary visits for shots and stuff. Vet visits are for low income people only, and we were told we'd have to bring in paycheck stubs for proof of income! Wow, we'll know more next time if we ever decide to adopt again from them.

DO YOUR HOMEWORK. It's not an emergency vet. They don't take walk-ins. And you can only reach them by voice mail. If you do a little research instead of just barging in and acting entitled, you'll get the best quality care and excellent service.

The staff is very knowledgeable, and friendly!! And I never felt like I was being treated like dirt!!!! I know our little bull dog was a hand full but they were very good to her!! Thank you all very much! God bless!!!!! 😇🙏💜💜

A huge amount of animals are looking for a new home after being victims of the hurricanes. All the border states of Texas are taking in animals to help. Special interest groups too. Full blooded dogs are in our shelters. Also check out "pet-a-bulls" and Google for other rescue shelters in Albuquerque. This is our little rescue and she is so happy to have a home.

What a wonderful place. The facilities, staff, and volunteers are all lovely. Having the dogs in separate enclosed rooms makes the experience of adopting so much more pleasant. No loud and smelly rooms full of dogs! When I adopted from here, they let me have all the time in the world with the perspective dogs. Don't forget, they also offer some really great training classes!

In the past 3 or 4 years, my parents and I have fostered multiple dogs and a cat from the animal humane society. We foster failed and adopted one of the dogs. She's one of the best, sweetest dogs we've had. There's no question in the fact that they are being cared for. However, the staff is extremely condescending and snooty. They act like they're all that and a slice of bread to people that aren't exactly like them. We're kind and I believe that my family is great with dogs, but they never liked us at the humane society. It frustrates me that people feel so embarrassed when being spoken to like that.

The Animal Humane New Mexico was great! I came looking to adopt on a Sunday and wasn't disappointed. After looking at a couple different dogs, I got lucky when they told me they had the perfect dog for me that someone had turned in that morning. Instantly bonded with Earl(the dog they told me about) and I adopted him. The staff was great with helping me out. They know their animals and any tips you may need.

Love this facility. One of the best no kill shelters in the country IMO. All financed by private donations, the facility is immaculate and the animals well cared for. Their vet clinic caters to low income and really nice staff.

I have taken over six dog training classes at Animal Humane and I keep coming back for more! Civilized Canine (basic obedience), Perfect Pub Pet, Nosework, Agility there really is something for everyone, human and canine. The instructors are knowledgeable and truly care. Classes are fun but really informative, too. I've learned so much and strengthened my bond with my dogs as a result. I can't wait to take a class at their beautiful new training facility!

I have also adopted two dogs from Animal Humane and the experience was wonderful. The staff there gave me great information on my dogs' personalities and how they might fit into my home. They even had my dog meet the prospective dogs to see how they would get along. I felt prepared and excited when I finally took my little guy home, instead of worried and stressed, thanks to the adoption process and the input from the shelter staff. I will never go anywhere else to adopt.

I had a horrible experience. I went here a couple of weeks ago to pick up my voucher to get my dog fixed. The ladies at the front desk did not acknowledge me. It was like I wasn't even there. I signed my name on some list that was up there and went to take a seat. I sat there for about 15 minutes before another group of people came in. These people were greeted once they came through the door and were quickly helped. I sat there for another 10 minutes before finally going back up to the front desk. I stood at the front desk being ignored by the ladies at the desk. Finally, a man can from the back area and asked if I had been helped. This was a horrible experience for me and I have no plans on going back there are recommending anyone to go there.

I had two bonded dogs that I had to surrender to the Animal Humane NM, since I already had 4 dogs at home. The 2 dogs were from a friend of mine who had recently passed away, and I had no luck finding a home for them through close networks. So my last resort was to take them to the Animal Humane. It wasn't a guarantee that they'd keep both dogs together, but they said that they would try to and that if they were separated that they'd make sure they'd go into good homes. Long story short, I surrendered them and found out that the next day someone adopted them together. So grateful for this place!
