This place is a huge rip off. I came with the 13 1/2 years old dog Musca with toe infection on 10/3/17. I asked for a toe removal and blockade injection. They refused. After 5 hours and $400 less in my pocket they sent us home saying they trimmed the nail and other nails around, sending home a dog with a paw being wrapped. I was told to change the wrapping in 3 days. Unwrapped today and found out that the affected toenail was not touched and wrapping was completely unnecessary.
Shame on you !!!!
Shame on Animerge !! My sister found a kitten that was hit by a car..We called you on Sept 9th 2017 for help, it was a stray ..Instead of showing humanity/ kindness to the stray kitten to offer to help it or try ..You told us to call animal control..So with further calling around we ended up calling Bucks County, they understood it was a stray and said bring it over..So my husband and I drove the kitten 45 min away to give the kitten a chance. The leg was bad. They tried to save him and would of but kitty had more internal damage and kitty had to be put to sleep. That vet hospital at least tried.. You guys did not..The other vet hospital showed compassion and humanity for a stray, they didn't want $, donations are welcomed and we donated before they had to put Kitty to sleep..So you and your staff SHAME on you all..When you lose humanity and compassion when money is more important then life or at least try to save that isn't right.. Very upset with your hospital and lacking of heart ..Angie
My dog began whining around 4:30am. Thirty mins later she was shaking from pain and panting for breath. This was the first time she fell ill and I needed to get her some help. I called and told them about the symptoms and that I was on my way. I arrived around 6:30 and got buzzed in with no one at the desk. I waited patiently trying to comfort my dog who was crying in pain . A receptionist came in 20 mins later and sat at the front without even asking about my dog ( she was still whining in pain and panting for breath). By 7:20am I ask what was going on , that I need to see a vet. She told me no one was available because of the shift change and that I would have to wait till 8am to see a vet. I asked the receptionist "So why do you say this is 24 hours when it's not , that's why I called before I came in ". She said , you didn't speak to me . Really !!!
Upset I called another near by which was , Red Bank Veterinary. I walked in the door told the receptionist my dog had problems breathing and within seconds someone came to the front to take care of her !
AnimErge is supposed to be a 24 hour emergency hospital. They cared nothing about my baby and the pain she was in. If you care nothing about your pet, this is the perfect place . They should be a called 24 hour pet cemetery !!!!
My dog was having a lot of pain and couldn't walk. She was barely eating or drinking. After speaking with a few friends and family, we pretty much assumed she had Lyme and knew we needed to get her antibiotics asap.
We brought her in to Animerge around midnight, Sunday Morning, and we told them we think it's probably Lyme.
Instead of talking with us about testing for Lyme, they immediately wanted us to consent to a bunch of things she didn't need, like a catheter, for no reason - without ever even looking at her or asking questions. We refused because we were not presented with any evidence or reason to put a catheter in.
They quickly took her from us, and walked her into a back room somewhere, so we had no idea what was going on. And our dog gets nervous without us. It was horrible.
They even said she was anxious and tense and weren't sure if it was interfering with their evaluation. I kept asking to see her and they said no. I've literally never been separated from my dog while she's being treated for anything.
Completely unprofessional and bad practice, in my opinion. No one would separate parents from a child being evaluated in a hospital. Our normal vet talks us through everything he does and we have never been separated.
Animerge was so pushy about having us sign things for medical treatments with zero explanation, zero communication. They kept coming in with these papers of treatments but no real evidence to do them.
They wanted to do X-rays on her stomach and kept asking if she ate anything weird. They thought there was a "blockage". After repeatedly telling them my dog just had a "movement" before we got in the car, and kept having to confirm that she doesn't eat garbage, they finally left the room again with no real idea about what was wrong with my dog.
I kept overhearing one vet tech literally making fun of us, cackling from the back room where my dog was, bc we wouldn't consent to these crazy treatments. She was complaining about how we must be having "financial issues" (we are not), and can't pay for treatment. And called us "Dr. Google".
It was unbelievable.
Then they FINALLY agreed to test for Lyme after hours sitting there while they "evaluated" her in the back.
The vet finally came out, disappointedly, and said she "tested a little bit positive for Lyme".
Not sure how you can test "a little bit for Lyme", but I guess they assumed they didn't need to explain anything further because I would probably just ask google anyway.
I guarantee they wanted to slice my dog open last night. It was absolutely appalling.
I don't recommend anyone go to Animerge. Ever. This was a horrible experience and I'm disgusted with the lack of logic regarding my dog's health and care.
The only saving grace to the night was the sweet, caring receptionist Barbara, who took the time to talk with us, talk to the vet/tech on our behalf, and even gave us blankets because it was so cold. Someone please give this woman a raise and a medal for being the only descent human being that works there.
I took Quincy in for a late night emergency and was treated very well by a kind staff in a nice and clean animal hospital - thorough treatment. Thank you.
First my family and I had an emergency this past weekend where unfortunately we had to make the hardest decision to put our Sammy to sleep. This was our first dog and it was very emotional for us to come to this decision. The staff and especially Dr. Andrea Freeman was very compassionate and explained to us exactly what was going on and allowed us to make the difficult decision. This is still fresh in my mind and yesterday we received a very heartwarming card from Dr. Andrea with pictures of Sammy's paw print. We really appreciated their compassion and understanding. Thank you. From The Gonzalez-Gibson family
IF YOU CARE ABOUT YOUR PET, DO NOT, I REPEAT DO NOT, TAKE YOUR DOG TO THIS OFFICE!!
My family was taking my dog to this vets office for a few years. Every time we would bring the dog in they would prescribe another medication to treat my dogs "allergies". My mother, desperate to help my dog and stop his chronic itching, would agree to the medications they would prescribe, and every time my dog would visit this place they would find an additional medication to sell to my mother (costing hundreds of dollars). Meanwhile, keeping my mother convince my dog NEEDED be treated with a constant regiment of a drug called ATOPICA, which causes cancer in dogs.
All the additional and aforementioned medication the vet tired to sell to my mother to treat my dog were really to treat the side effects of Atopica and no one ever informed my mother about the side effects of this drug (including CANCER) that was slowly killing my dog because they were desperate to sell her more medications.
This place runs by claiming they are an emergency medical practice for pets, but they are just exploiting people who want to save their beloved pet.
Long story short, my dog needed to be put down because he developed cancerous tumors and was experiencing convulsions -all side effects of the Atopica which they kept prescribing.
I don't know if this is an incident of negligence or greed by the people who run this place but if you want your PET TO STAY HEALTHY AND ACTIVE PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE, DO NOT TAKE YOUR PET HERE!!!!!!!!!
Excellent in an emergency. Not great if not. Our vet was out of town, and our dog had a raging eye infection. Life threatening? Not really.. We sat for hours while they saw more urgent cases and ended up leaving without seeing anyone. I totally understand, and would want to be seen quickly if we had a true emergency. Just warning you.
I sadly had to bring my dog in recently & ending up having to put her down due to kidney failure. The staff were extremely patient & sympathetic. It made saying goodbye a little easier.
Found a stray cat that was in horrible condition and called animal control. They informed me that the animal would be taken here and gave me their number to call. I later called their number and inquired about the condition about the animal, after which I was informed that they would notify me later. After a few hours I decided to give them a call and ask about the animal's condition when I was informed that they would not reveal any information about it whatsoever. Now I'm left to wonder about the animal's condition until animal control might be able to notify me I can't comment on the quality of care, but it's definitely not good for having peace of mind.
This place is a huge rip off. They do not run an honest business. They will likely charge you 160$ for a consult from a Vet, which doesn't include any treatment. Then the Vet will propose a treatment plan with ridiculously high prices and recommend you sign a form that makes you financially responsible for the cost of the treatment. Do not sign this form. Take your pet, leave this place, and do not return. They may be doctors, but this is not a good place to do business.
