I was hesitant based on the reviews but upon entering the room I was shocked to see how large they were! Staff was great. Breakfast was OK but for $69 I did not complain. Affordable and a great value.

Worst place in the world to stay, the hotel manager is cheap, the rooms are expensive, and a total discrace. We checked in at 3 am and was charged for two night instead of the instead of the one night all because we had to check in early for my Grandmothers funeral. I spent $140. For one night when I could have stayed in a resort. The staff is not friendly and the breakfast was a continental which is fine except all they had was frozen waffles, milk, and cheap donuts.

THIS PLACE IS HORRIBLE. I came with my family and they called the police on my mother for no reason then they proceeded to lie on her and about who was manager and they tried to get her arrested. They also told us to leave and my mom said she would leave if we got our money back and they refused to give us money we already paid. I would give this place 0 stars but it’s not possible. Be careful when you come.

Not a bad value for basic amenities. The room was clean and comfortable. Free coffee and continental breakfast was nice. Staff was very pleasant.

I had a pleasant stay here. Night staff was accommodating when there was a hiccup in my reservation. Everything was made right and the room was clean and spacious. Seems like the property is undergoing cosmetic changes. Overall, $69 was well spent and it is the best deal I could find being right in the downtown area.

If I could put zero stars or even negative stars i 100% would. This place reeks of mold and cigarette smoke, the key did not work, the floor was wet, and we were extremely disrespected. The only thing worth the one star is the fact that publix is right across the street. The "breakfast" was a complete joke. What kind of hotel doesn't serve at least bread? If you like dirt flavored coffee, crappy packaged pastries, and frozen waffles then this place is for you. Thankfully we had good leftover from our drive here. The lady working here was extremely disrespectful and made us uncomfortable not even 10 minutes within arriving. I would not recommend this place at all. You're better off investing an extra $15-30 elsewhere.

Horrible, horrible experience!!!! Don't come here. This place stinks and its very filthy. I know this kind of hotels are small and have basic services, but theres no excuse to neglect cleanliness and appeareance. The Indian lady from the front desk was very rude and careless!! Started talking to us in her native language we couldn't understand what she said, and on top of that asked us for another credit "in case we damage their premises. I recommend to go at any other hotel than American best value, so you can keep your sanity.

The main thing to remember with a place like this is that you get what you paid for. For the price, this isn't a bad place to hang your hat, but that's about it. Don't expect high end amenities, fancy rooms, or service at a snap of the fingers but you can't complain when you consider the proximity of this hotel to places like Lido Beach and downtown Sarasota. I didn't have any problems with bugs like some of the other reviewers on here but the entire facility really is in desperate need of a remodel. I felt a bit like I was time warped back into the 70's for a night. Noise from the hallways travels through the dated doors easily, and a lack of carpet in the rooms makes you feel a bit like you want to keep your shoes right next to the bed. Overall, I may try somewhere a bit nicer next time I'm in Sarasota but I don't have any real urgent complaints about this hotel, especially when you consider the price.

Price was decent, the hotel rooms were very dated and beds were rock hard. Wouldn't stay here again. Pillow cases didn't look that clean and the toilet wasn't attached to the floor as it wobbled. Probably find a better hotel near the same location

The owners are very reasonable, the rooms are the best around for the price, and you can enjoy your privacy here.

Great location with a grocery store and fast food right next door. Free breakfast, Wi-Fi, and pool are great additions. The rooms however, could use an upgrade. Curtains and blankets have tears and burns in them. Also looks like some wall art may have been stolen and not replaced.
