We stayed last Summer for a week visit to see my family. We really enjoyed our stay the room was clean, staff friendly and helpful. The breakfast was good! We are planning another trip this Summer to Streator. Planning on staying there again!

Not many options for hotels in Streator, so being the best option wouldn't take much. This hotel was up to date and clean though, and a pleasant place to spend the night. Options at breakfast were more limited than some, and the hot food had been on the warmer too long, but that's a limited complaint for the price.

Good breakfast. Quiet hotel. Nice pool but lacked chlorine it felt like, though I could be wrong. Nice host. Nicely priced. Fast and easy access.

Only stayed one night. Room was clean. There was a hole in the bathroom door, but other than that everything worked fine.

Excellent customer service. We left behind an item in our room and the hotel mailed it to us. Very friendly staff and a great experience!

Not a nice hotel. Told me the rate was 60 dollars per night. I had my wife check out for me after three days and the bill was over three hundred. Do yourself a favor and go elsewhere. Im not mad just honest. Take notice of the names that are giving this place a high review. Just saying.

Having been to streator numerous times I definitely recommend the Americinn over the others. Newly renovated and the manager Josh goes above and beyond to make sure his guests have a comfortable and pleasant stay. The pool and breakfast are an added bonus. Thank you!

I know this is quite the novel . So if you don't want the novel and read the specifics and just want the quick pros and cons scroll down to the bottom of my novel where that is posted.

We rented a room for two nights. When are we got our reservations they told us that the hotel was completely full except for one room. The one room would be $99 for the night. My wife told them that we would need a room for two nights. They told us that they would rent us the room for the second night for $75 for that night and $99 for the first night. When we arrived they tried charging us $99 for both nights. After an exchange of words the man finally agreed to change the price even though he said that he had no ability to do so. The room itself smelled of smoke so there was no option of whether it was a smoking room or not and we were never informed that it would or would not be a smoking room. Since my wife and I do not smoke it was a little disheartening. But since we were told it was the only room left open in the hotel why go and complain. Had we known before we had gotten into the room at least we would have known what we were walking into. The towels in the hotel are very subpart small in size not overly absorbent but towels. The soap not that we needed it but to wash your hands was so small it was hardly larger than a quarter. The shampoo conditioner and lotion the complementary was only big enough for me as a man was short hair to wash my hair. Also I hope you like heat whenever you get into this hotel the downstairs Lobby was sufficient. Then we entered the hallway to the second floor. now just so you know there is no elevator so whenever so whenever your wife's bag was 85 lb you will be hit it up a staircase that in all honesty was 80 to 85 Degrees. You will have to look this by hand. Whenever we got into the room and this was close to midnight the first night. The room had to be 80 to 85 Degrees itself if not warmer. So turn the AC unit on crank it all the way down and then me and my wife sit and watch TV in the heat for the next 2 hours waiting for the room to even get cool enough to think about being able to lay down and sleep. The next morning my wife got in the shower I'm sitting on the bed and the front door opens and the maid tells me that they're coming in to clean. Now mind you this is at 8 in the morning. Granted we did not have the no disturb sign on the door and I had not put the safety latch on the door so that someone could not come in on us. However it was the idea that 8 in the morning in a room that they know is rented for the next day they tried to come in and clean the room at that time. In my thinking that should be the last room that you should clean that day. Now mind you I understand that a lot of this is very nitpicky Maybe. If I am going to spend $100 a night in a very small town like Streator and have to spend $100 for a hotel room I just expect a lot from it I guess. My wife and I stayed in Olive Branch Mississippi and spent $55 for the night and the bid was to die for much better than the bed in Streator however the bed in this hotel was sufficient to sleep on.

    The quick pros and cons.

Pros bed was sufficient to sleep on sheets they were okay not scratchy but not really nice sheets. Towels were sufficient. The room was quiet.

Con's: Room was smoked in and it was never asked if we wanted a smoking or non-smoking room. The hotel is not secure in any way shape fashion or form. Anyone can walk in from the outside back door and walk straight into the hotel and roam the Halls.

Small but solid hotel. Staff was friendly and professional. Rooms were fairly standard, ad breakfast was alright. Comfortable bed.
