A wonderful spot tucked away in the Historic Fourth Ward of Charlotte. The food is always tasty and plentiful. The service is outstanding with warm, friendly, and attentive service.

Good little place! I have lived in Charlotte for over 25 years and finally got around to visiting. Quaint, cozy atmosphere and very attentive staff, located in a really pretty part of the city. Black bean hummus was delicious, as was the blackened chicken pasta. Good place to watch a football game.

Amazing gem in the 4th Ward!! The food, staff, atmosphere , and the owner Steve make this place feel so comfortable. Just like stepping back in time. A time when the pace of life was slower, and more enjoyable. Don't miss out on what Al Mike's has to offer.

Excellent spot for lunch. You feel like family when you walk through the door. If your looking for something to fill you up and not let you down the London Broil sandwich is where its at! Don't ruin it though, at least it medium rare!

Very tasty food! The service is impeccable. A quaint bar and restaurant. So happy I walked by this place. I'm new to the neighborhood and instantly fell in love with this gem. I'll be a regular.

Some great food and beer in a (mostly) family friendly environment.
Came here for dinner after a day of sight-seeing and was quite happy with both the food, drinks, and service.
Although the place was crowded we only had to wait a few minutes to get seated, and the local craft beer selection made it worthwhile.
The food - we had a pasta entree and steak sandwich - was very good, and matched well with the beer and cider we had to drink.
The dining room is a big crowded and difficult to navigate with small children, but that's to be expected. This is a relatively loud restaurant, which was fine for us but if you have young children that are sensitive to loud noises or easily distracted, it may not be the best location.

Boyfriend and I were just visiting NC during a two week road trip. This was the best meal we had by far. Amazing service, awesome atmosphere, free parking and the food was phenomenal. THE best black bean hummus I have ever had.

Alexander Michael's is a well hidden gem in Charlotte that is worth finding. My husband and I come here every year to celebrate our anniversary. The atmosphere is very intimate. They serve great drinks and food. I personally love any of their pasta dishes with Cajun Cream Sauce. Yum Yum! I definitely recommend anyone in the Charlotte area experiencing Alexander Michael's at least once!

Food and service were excellent, ambiance was good, and wait was negotiable. They don't accept reservations, menu had great selections tho, and I really liked the nachos and the what it is. The rest of my party got the special which was a stuffed pepper and were really pleased and impressed. Overall extremely pleased with this meal and will definitely come back! Weekend be prepared for a wait though and larger parties may not be accommodated, check their website for details on that.

WHAT IT IS! Is the best thing on the menu imho. This is a very comfortably and intimately set restaurant with long bar nestled into the fourth ward. It can be spotted by an antique pick up truck parked out front. They have many craft beers at normal prices. The food is amazing and everyone I've taken loves it. Make sure you plan enough time for a walk before or after around fourth ward. There are maps/pamphlets located in fourth ward park which give the history of many houses in the area. We have considered moving to this area simply because of the atmosphere of the park and Alexander Michael's.
