Awesome brewery with exceptional beer plus great food trucks outside. The venue is great with wide open seating areas. It's definitely a chill atmosphere. The food trucks outside serve solid food at a good price. Inside they have plenty to see including a Tony Gwynn museum. Definitely worth checking out!

We got a couple flights, and the beers here were all awesome. They have a large selection of their own craft brews, so you're sure to find something you like.
Food is provided by food trucks outside near the patio. We didn't try anything, but the food we saw others eating looked pretty good. The emphasis here is on the beer, and food is more of a convenience for those who want a small bite.
The location is really nice. There's a large patio outside, and large bar inside. Tables and high tops are scattered about for groups. Everything is new and modern. The space feels open and is great for conversing over a brew. There's also a large counter to buy merchandise like t-shirts, mugs, etc.
Service was quick and hassle free, as it should be.response / report this review -

Beers are decent. Very true to style but, at the end of the day, boring. Brewery is sterile and predictable. Patio is OK but again looks like something out of "building a brew pub 101"

Terrible attitude, their policy sux. They kicked me out after I dared to drink the beer they sold me in one of their biggest bottles. They confiscated my beer and told me that I had to leave. Extremely disappointing! Can't comment on the beer, barely had a few sips! Nazis!

Big fan of Sublime so I had to try their Sublime Mexican Lager. Beer is good of course as is expected from Alesmith. The location is still under expansion but fully operational. Inside is a fantastic museum dedicated to Mr. Padre himself Tony Gwynn. That alone is worth driving there and get a beer to top it off.

We were today at the taproom and the young man on the bar won't serve us because we had only our German ID with us (we're 31 and 25 though) The California law says:
The ABC recommends that licensees accept only "Bona Fide" identification which are currently valid, issued by a Government Agency and contain the following criteria:
Name of Person, Photograph, Physical Description, Date of Birth, Issued by a Governmental Agency, & Must be Valid (Not Expired). All that is in our German ID. But he wanted our Travellers Pass. Luckily there are plenty more breweries in the San Diego Area.response / report this review -

Two words: Barrel. Aged. Their offerings are phenomenal. If you're like me, you enjoy vertical tastings of unique barrel combinations. AleSmith delivers on multiple fronts with Strong Ales, Stouts, and Belgian-styles. This is my number one spot in San Diego--an area ripe with wonderful breweries!

AleSmith is great! Some of the best brews around and the atmosphere is great; clean, friendly, modern. We had the World Tour and the Belgian Flights which were super tasty. There was also a food truck which I didn't try but definitely will next time. From ales to stouts, AleSmith has you covered!

It doesn't get much better than AleSmith. I LOVE this new space, too. Their beers are amazing, too. As a matter of fact, we've taken day trips for single release beers before. Can't say that about many breweries While here, get a Speedway Stout, or any variant of Speedway, and enjoy the day. BIG fan of these guys. Cheers!
