This theatre is in bed of some love, the movies are good but there are some theaters in the area that are more updated and a bit nicer for the same price
Once we got to our seats it was awesome!!
The Star was an amazing movie.
The consessions we very dirty.
Only one person selling tickets. Computer crashed causing delay. Restrooms only had one paper towel dispenser which was empty. Theaters are small and top two rows of seating (best seats) in middle are inaccessible????? It's more fun at MJR.
For the key theatres the seats are ultra comfortable and they recline. Staff can be a bit unprofessional and sometimes the concessions are just dirty. They do have a bar that serves alcohol as well. Overall it's okay.
Although very crowded at times .. I'm still able too get good seats and great managers that handle issues promptly and sufficient
I had a great experience with customer service here. One of the girls at the front counter help ne take my food to my seat. I am so glad she did because I would have had to make two trips. Very friendly and drinks are great here.
Its hard to say if this place has come a long way or is simply just holding on for dear life. The staff is friendly. They have all the new movies. The concessions are out of this world expensive as should be expected. The facilities generally dated. Not changed since the original star Gratiot. Since everything around it is closed the parking is great.
Two Stars because the staff is friendly and the new seats are nice, otherwise I'd give it a one star rating. The concession prices are through the roof with the upgraded seats and you have to self serve your soft drinks now. Plus, the place is loaded with theater hoppers who come in from other movies halfway through and disrupt the show. There are also pan handlers in the parking lot. This used to be my go to theater but I'm going to skip this place going forward.
This is the Headquarters of AMC Theaters! It's a huge theater, great bar, elevated stadium seating! Definitely on my list of favorite theaters!
The wife and I were all excited to go see Guardians of the Galaxy Vol2 this morning. Got to the theater and bought our tickets and 1 large soda (27 dollars). A Bit pricey but new seats and all we were not bothered. Get in the theater to our assigned seats and the video screen had a test pattern but you could hear the ads playing, so I went and told the manager. They fixed the screen and all was going good. Then the DOLBY intro kicks in and WOW it was loud. We figured it was just to show the sound dynamics of the new theater. Then the previews! I love previews! The sound did not turn down at all. Now I am partially deaf, Music to loud when growing up, Rock concerts, constant ear infections when I was young. It was so loud I could not stand it, I turn to my wife and she is crying because it was so loud. We got up after 3 previews and went to tell the management. Their response was it’s a DOLBY theater you are in and it’s got more speakers so it’s louder. We got our money back for the tickets and left. 30 minutes later and I am sitting here with my ears throbbing and tinnitus ringing louder than I have had it in a very long time. It was the worst experience I have ever had at a movie. If you go to the theater ask if it’s the DOLBY theater and make sure you are willing to put up with losing your hearing for a show.
All the remodel of this location did was shine up the same old trash and present it as new. On a Sunday night at 7pm there was trash everywhere, the freestyle machines were putting out flat soda, the slurpee machines were broken and the recliners in the busiest theatre were broken. Trash all over the floor in the theatre and the manager seemed to be busier making excuses than making sure my group was satisfied. Yes, we were given free passes to attempt to satisfy us, but this was the last straw at this location. John R has been a much better theatre in customer service and quality of experience for years and I'll just use my free passes there.
I love this theater! The staff is excellent and we always have a good time! Thank you for making it so enjoyable!
The parking lot looks like a garbage truck tipped over and the trash has been swirling around a few day. No exaggeration. Inside was much better with the renovation. No more sticky floor and cramped seats. But we went on a Sunday around noon and they rent out to a church. Their music must have been traveling through the vents because it was regular movies next to us on both sides. I ran out and complained. The noise went down a bit but it was still loud for the next hour and really ruined the experience.
