Yavuz Sultan Selim Mosque: The mosque from which the locality derives its name is located in Fatih was built by Suleiman the Magnificent in the name of his son Selim I on the fifth hill of seven hills of Istanbul which overlooks Golden Horn. The construction started in 1522 and was completed in 1529.

This mosque is located in a district where has lots of great mosques, Fatih. The most important feature of this mosque is its perfect view. If you go to its courtyard which is on the "Golden Horn" side, you can see this. When you enter the mosque, you face its lovely atmosphere. Although it is not very wide like most of other mosques in Fatih, you can feel relax . Also, you can rest here if you want some peace.

A mosque and tomb at the site of Sultan Selim I's grave (the father of Suleiman the Magnificent). Not too popular with tourists, but still beautiful on the inside and a particularly nice courtyard. This is the mosque with only two minarets which you'll see on the city's skyline.

Amazingly preserved mosque, well maintained and a beautiful atmosphere. A huge mosque with a large courtyard almost in a par with the Sultanahmet, well worth a visit. A lot of Syrian refugees are living in the area, more than 50% of the people that you see there will be Syrian.

A fine mosque and surrounds. The tomb is worth viewing if you are lucky enough to be there when it is open - perhaps only on Fridays?

There is a nice area outside in the complex for viewing the Golden Horn north towards Galata. Also another side has views of Eastern Fatih.
