Best interior after Rustem Pasha Mosque. This mosque has pieces of Hajar Al-Aswad above mimbar, above entrance, and at khatib place 🙂🙂🙂

A beautiful small mosque just a few minutes walk from Sultanahmet and the Hagia Sophia. Virtually no tourists around so it is nice and quiet. This mosque is known for portions of the Black Stone embedded in the door, minbar, and mihrab.

Unbelievably beautiful and almost no tourists. Keep an eye out for the four small square pieces of the holy black stone from the Ka'aba in Makkah. One is over the entry way facing the mosque interior, one over the mihrab, one over the minbar. Each piece is surrounded by a small gold frame.

Literally one of the best gems in istanbul you have to go see this place theres no tourists its just you and the mosque and its breathtakingly beautiful and a place of pure tranquility

My favourite masjid in Sultanahamet. Truly a hidden gem tucked away. A must visit. Please see the view from the flat I rented.

Small mosque tucked in the back street of Sultan Ahmet neighborhood. Not as famous or big as the Sultan Ahmet (Blue Mosque) or Sulemaniah Mosque but this mosque has the honor of having four small pieces of Hajre-Aswad (The Black Stone) revered by all muslims. To the best of my knowledge this is the only place outside of Holy Kaaba in Mecca to have that honor.

Historic mosque with 4 pieces of Hajereh Assad (Black Stone) from Makkah. They can be seen as follows;
1. On the inside of the doorway as you enter the masjid, I.e. when exiting look above the door and you will see a piece in a gold border.
2. In the Mehrab, or prayer niche, look up and it is in a gold frame.
3. In the Mimbar, firstly above the entrance to the mimbar, this one is not covered in a gold frame.
4. At the top of the Mimbar in a gold frame.
Note these are small pieces and therefore only on small frames.
Please respect the sanctity, and do not expect to be able to reach them as they are set too high up.response / report this review -

We just happened to walk past this iconic mosque not realising how historic it was. The guardian, Kemal, was very friendly. He opened the mosque for us and showed us inside. A beautiful place of worship.
