This was my first experience of a traditional turkish bath and it thought it would be best to experience it in a grand historical building. I paid over 200 lira for a higher treatment package which as a one off I was willing to pay. The building interior lived up to my expectation as you could really feel the history of the place and it looked stunning. The treatment was very good and I would definently use a hamam again. The staff were friendly and good at their job. I would recommend for anyone wanting to try this first time in Istanbul.

Had a pretty good meal for 2 for 100TL. Nice flavours! Good service. I would go back again. The celery cold meze was especially good and quite special compared to how westerners prepare celery.

Not worth the money at all. Paid 60 euro, the masseur did some massage and rub some foams all over and scrubbed a bit. That's it! I can not believe it has finished when it was done. It feels like a handicap man who can not shower.

Firstly the place is amazing. They advertise this place as the "300 year old Hammam" - but this is obvious when you walk in. The wash area is very traditional - a large oval space with a central dome. The sides are lined with traditional water fountains and of course all surfaces are marble which makes sense with the high levels of humidity, but be careful as it can get quite slippy!

My therapist was Shabaan and he was fantastic. He really took his time and ensured I knew exactly what was going on. I went for the No.5 oriental package which was priced at €60 or 185TL (tip: pay in TL as it almost certainly guarantees you a better rate. 185TL = €46 the day I went.

The environment is safe, with valuables and clothing being kept in your own lockable changing room.

This is a must visit at our time of visit we had the full treatment and it cost £40 probably one of ghetto best value for money things we've done this trip.

Very authentic Hammam. I have previously been to the main Haghia Sophia Hammam opposite to the Haghia Sophia which is ridiculously expensive with fixed prices.

Pakistanis & Indians should talk to Mohammed from Bangladesh, he speaks good english and hindi.

Don't forget to bargain. They are good fellows and can give you good offers.

Overall the place is clean. Obviously old, and feels old as well, which I personally like because it makes it feel authentic.

The people who bathe you are also strong and nice.

Some may get frightened or scared at night if the hamaam is empty. It is quite gloomy and scary, gives a game of thrones kind of effect at night, but thats what I was looking for :)

Overall, great experience. Definitely worth the price. Should go for it if its your first hamaam bath.

I personally found it to be a glorious experience to be able to partake in this ancient ritual. From the changing cabins, the indoor courtyard, the marble bathing area and the experienced, loving care of the masseuses - it all added up to an unforgettable and soothing afternoon. I also loved the fact that there were many locals visiting as well. A must do for everyone who wants to experience the essence of Turkey. Highly recommended.
