Wow. I’ve never tried baklava before and when I came here under my friend’s recommendation, this place just floored me with their desserts and varieties of baklava! I don’t like desserts that are too sweet but these baklava are not too bad and they have plenty of pistachios ingredients to balance it out.
One of the softest and tastiest baklava I’ve ever tried, especially the ones with the pastry textured. I loved it to the point I bought some boxes to bring it back to my country.
Apparently they can put it in the box and vacuum pack it, so that you can bring it home safely and retain the taste. They said if vacuum pack, at least can last 5-10 days. And once open it, also can last about 10 days if leave it on the table but obviously can keep in the fridge. But it’s better to consume it within 10-15 days after buying it while it’s still fresh and tasty.
One of the best baklava shop I’ve ever visited and consumed. Please head here for tasty baklavas. You won’t be disappointed :)
Great place for baclava good variaty of items good tast proffesional staff highly recommended
This is sincerely the best dessert place I have ever been to in my entire life! It is truly amazing. They do not have any other branches so you have to come in to the shop. Best baklava you can have in your life, but my favourite is the kadayif, which is in the photo. If this is your first time in Istanbul, I highly recommend it, I always come here when I can. My friends from the UK, Canada and Romania also loved this place, please give it a visit, you will not be disappointed :D
Fyi, check out the goods first, decide what you want to have, pay for it at the till, then bring the receipt to get your dessert
No flavor— just like eating 100% sugar. Impossible to taste the butter so bland
Some of the best baklava in Istanbul. Popular with tourists and locals alike. It should be noted that while there are other places called Gulluoglu, this is the only original/authentic location. You can either order pieces to go or dine in. Right next to a couple other baklava places, so perfect for taste testing!
Most of the deserts are delicious. Although there is too much foot traffic, you'll never wait too long. The staff is informative, helpful and kind. Great for a quick bite.
besides faruk's baklava, karakoy's also my fav!
I like that they have baklava with less sugar.
i recommend chocolate baklava 🙌🏽
Istanbul'un populer baklavacisi. Kıymalı su böreği 👍🏻. Her daim kalabalık. | Istanbul's not the best but most popular and touristic dessert (baklava) place. Crowded all the time, be patient while ordering
By far, the best Baklava I’ve ever tried in Istanbul. And the place is so well organized, staff that talk English “not very common in Istanbul”. And the varieties available would satisfy anyone craving Turkish delights and sweets.
A must visit while you're in Istanbul! Given the history and reviews it's pretty touristy and usually crowded (even late on a weeknight) with short lines at most stations, but the baklava and the ice cream are ABSOLUTELY worth it. You can order individual pieces or weighted boxes of baklava, to go or to stay and it's very tough to choose a flavor so I recommend a box with a variety. You can also get a box made and sealed in front of you to take home/travel with. Highly recommend the original walnut baklava, the pistachio, and the chocolate one for a unique twist. They are all flaky, fresh, and perfect. Also recommend the pistachio Turkish ice cream! Good combo is getting a scoop of the ice cream and eating it on top of your pistachio baklava. :) Service is efficient and nice, and there's a lot of indoor and outdoor seating. Also an easy walk from here to the waterfront if you want to do your sweets as takeaway and eat them by the River.
I have always enjoyed the Karakoy Gulluoglu sweets cafe every time I visit Istanbul. It is truly one of the best places to enjoy a fine Turkish Baqlava topped with ice cream. There are several kinds and each has its best taste but I particularly recommend the one shown on the posted photograph.
Best Baklava in Istanbul and really good service!
This shop has two sections with the main focus as a cafè serving delicious Baklava with traditional tea but also Turkish coffee and other regular cafè menu. Second part and more interesting one for me was the takeaway section where you can buy perfect Souvenirs in nicely designed packages and also test for free before buying.
Massive baklava store with seating both inside and outside. Pay first at the cashier, then take your ticket to a baklava counter and pick your baklava. Coffee is brought to your seat. In addition to the well known baklava, they also serve some sorts of baklava I had not come across before, all well worth trying. Very friendly service, despite the somewhat hectic structure of paying and then ordering.
Karakoy Gulluoglu is the best Baklava house in Istanbul. No branch. Good quality. It's very delicious.
Best Baklava in the world, but also the most expensive. I suggest you to get a mixed plate, so you can taste everything. Water is free of charge, WC is behind the counter.
This is the most impartant place for İstanbul to eat Baklava, also you can find different types of baklava. An important stopping point for introducing the Turkish cuisine to both the people of the city and the tourists.
They produce best Baklava in Turkey. The owner Mr Nadir Gullu is always there checking the quality. The production line is fun to watch
Not good at all. There are better places even in Istanbul and in Gaziantep, where Baklava were originated. For the ones Tasting Baklava for the first time, it deserves 4 or 5 stars, if they have the chance to taste better options they will decrease the number of stars to 3, 2 or even 1 when they encounter something like they put side pieces of baklava which does not have pistacho inside to the boxes. Just warn them before to make them put from thr center, of course if you do not want to encounter with a suprise when they are back to home to your loved ones.
