Fantastic atmosphere, absolute characters behind the bar. Best pub in Lyttelton.

Once a really great spot, the Wunderbar has lost both its shine and its provocative witty edge in recent years, and it seems to be trying to regain it in a ham-fisted and mismanaged way. Bar staff's humorless "Refugees not wanted" posturing is bad enough but the establishment doesn't even have the balls to own its "edgy" stance, deleting all critical reviews on Facebook. I wont give them my money again.

They are displaying hate messages toward refugees proudly on ther bar. Glad they share their views so I know never to spend my money there ever again

Could you please offer an explanation as to why you've got a Trump sign up next to a sticker that says Refugees "Not" Welcome at your bar? Looking for a genuine response - are these the views of the managing staff?

An odd little bar has a stage out the back, enjoyed a few gigs until a massive stag do (including stripper) was going on in the bar! completely ruined the scene at the gig won't be back

Great venue and good acts. Been there lots of times but had trouble every time. Just a shame the staff have such a bad attitude.

A step back in time, incredible weird and wonderful memorabilia in this unusual bar. Plus table soccer and pool table. Well worth a visit to this iconic Lyttleton venue.

Good band. Had to walk through a stag do to get to the music venue part of the bar. The vibe was weird. Two entrances would be good for occasions like this

A great bar on the third floor overlooking the harbour. Cool decor, a very chill place to have a beer and watch the water.
