  Tied DB pub with the worst service. At least they gave us our money back after waiting an hour for simple pub food.

  The best pub food in the World - well, certainly in Christchurch. Warm, welcoming atmosphere, good menu and great value for money (well, maybe not the desserts, but they're yummy, so push the boat out!). We discovered the Brewers six years ago on our last visit to Christchurch, and headed straight back there this time around. And we'll be back!

  A nice venue, food was pretty good but the highlight was Nanny Rose. She was very honest, sweet and straight to the point. Several locals were having a beer and she was often chatting with them but very attentive to us at the same time clearing plates and asking us how we were doing.

  The only good point was that the meat was good. The concept of cooking your meat on a heated stone is rly great IF it wasnt served with the meat on it (dont expect a very rare meat if you like it so) the service was terrible, rude and very limited. The bartender litterally sighed when we finished ordering and went back to our table. such a shame

  Stone grill is great. Grill your own meats on the table. Get the mushroom sauce. Nice decor for a pub. There's even fish in the pond outside.

  We had the beef fillet on the stone which was great and tasteful, better without the sauces which aren't anything special (plum, barbecue and English mustard) apart from the garlic butter which adds a nice touch.The staff was super SUPER rude! Not a single smile, rough words when taking our order and we never heard the words thank you, not even upon payment when he took the money and just turned his back.

  For those who like stonegrill, here's the place to go, The Brewers Arms in Merivale. They serve Kangaroo meat with fresh garden salad and wedges with mushroom and garlic sauces. It goes well with a Golden lager 😋 If you don't like the Kangaroo meat, they do have other meats as well as seafood. You can cook the meat to exactly how you want it; raw, medium rare, medium, well done.
