  Had dinner here, first time and was highly impressed with the service, the food and the space itself. Waitress was very attentive and helped with menu decisions. Drinks were promptly restocked when needed. Ordered calamari and flat bread/dips to start. Beautiful hot crunchy calamari with delicious dipping sauce and lemon wedge on side, flat bread piping hot served with 3 different dips. Mains were ribeye with salad and fries which the steak was cooked to perfection with a creamy rich mushroom sauce. Partner ordered pork belly with kumara gratin and fries and blue cheese sauce on the side. Pork skin beautifully crackled and moist belly on the underside. Both mains around $32-36 each. No room for dessert 😊 Great atmosphere, very pleasant evening. Pics are of 2nd visit..just as good as the first 😉

  Kids meals were appalling, I'd avoid the macaroni cheese which was mainly chips.
  
  Adult battered fish were over cooked. Hamburger was over cooked.
  
  All of the adult meals were presented nicely.

  Great country style pub with a strong local following. Probably the best seafood basket in New Zealand and good pricing on beer. A great destination to drive to on a sunny weekend. Love it.
