Next Week starting Monday is Te Reo Māori language week. To celebrate there is a planned hikoi from Parliament to Te Ngākau (Civic Square).
Meeting between 10.00am - 11.00am at Parliament grounds the procession is schedules to start at 12pm and finish at Te Ngākau at 12.45pm.

The Future is Death, curated by Leilani Sio aka Panda, asks what place migrant people have in a colonised land. Emerging Pasifika artists reimagine a new existence for their people.
The artists in this Tautai exhibition use digital and mixed media, soundscape/spoken word, zines, photography and sculpture to expose how colonisation has blurred the ancestral connections of Tangata Whenua and Tangata O Le Moana. The Future is Death explores how to break free of the past and create a future free of the limits of somebody else’s imagination and structures

Isabella had her first solo show, I do not want to be a fool, here at Toi Pōneke last year. Disintegration Loops is a new work that will be showing alongside artist Sonya Lacey.

What we have to say (is worth sharing with you) is a pop-up renegade radio station running as part of AAAH2018 festival programme.
Hosted by AAAH2018, Wellington Access Radio and featuring Lynda Chanwai-Earle, this renegade radio station will run for two consecutive Saturdays (8 and 15 September) before the Hui at Toi Pōneke Art Centre in Central Wellington.

Toi Pōneke Gallery is calling for proposals with a Māori kaupapa from Wellington curators and artists for an exhibition during the Matariki festival in 2019.
The exhibition will open in late June and run through to mid-July.

Toi Pōneke NZSM Sound Artist in Residence 2018-19 CORY CHAMPION
Toi Pōneke Arts Centre and New Zealand School of Music- Te Kōki are excited to announce Cory Champion as the recipient of the Toi Pōneke NZSM Sound Art Residency 2018-19.
The residency offers an opportunity for Wellington sound artists to develop and present unique works over a 12-week period, culminating in an exhibition and public programmes.
Over the summer Champion will be developing a performance work that aims to dissolve and augment the drum set while abstracting the roles of the audience, participant, improviser, or performer.
Champion is a graduate of New Zealand School of Music - Te Kōki and works as a composer and performer. He also performs as borrowed cs, writing and producing his own electronic music.

Molly Morpeth Canaday Awards are open for entries and close December 1st. With $20,000 in awards for Painters and Drawers this award is to encourage and celebrate the development of painting and drawing on a national level and reward artists who create outstanding works.

Toi Poneke is a great arts centre for music and really good for my friend Andy Mauafua's screening for "Standing In The Shadows Of Motown" on Wednesday 18th July 2018.

It's a really good place for all sorts of music and performing arts vibes,and great to hire out rooms for special things.
