I had prawn cocktail, salmon on a Greek salad and a cheeseboard. This is a very seventies restaurant. The prawn cocktail lacked flavor, the salmon tasted to me like Atlantic Salmon which I do not like as much as regal salmon of Marlborough salmon. My mistake. I should have checked before ordering. The cheeseboard was lovely.
Three rooms others two courses for $30 or three for $35 and a free drink on Tuesdays so it is reasonably priced.response / report this review -

An excellent meal in a memorable location, this restaurant is special for its food, its design, its staff, and its affordability. Between the two of us we had 5 courses and thought each one was exceptional. Three Rooms could be mundane, but these have unique charm. We had a very enjoyable conversation with one of the managers who told us the restaurant's history. Overall it's a great value -- better food at a notable lower price.

Cosy restaurant with friendly staff and a relaxed atmosphere. Lovely food at a remarkable price! $30 for 2 courses, or $35 for 3 courses! And they make the best Creme Brulee anywhere between Auckland and Invercargill!

As a tourist I would appreciate more information like opening hours and so on, if not here than at least on the building itself So it won't happen to me I entered "closed" restaurant for the first try. That's how I learned they open at 6pm
And the wait and awkward situation worth it. The food was great! Stuff was a bit slow but it was probably because of the big group in the other room. Nice place.response / report this review -

What a FANTASTIC find. On recommendations from friends I took my Dad out for his Birthday dinner. I am SO GLAD we went there. Three Rooms is BEAUTIFUL. The setting, the ambience, the service, the food, pure class! We could not fault a thing. Lovely staff, friendly and obliging but not in your face. Crisp, clean linen on the table and a jug of water delivered as soon as we sat down. Generous portions, vegetables obviously very fresh and well chosen. Everything cooked to perfection. Our menu choices - a Squid entrée, Pork Belly for main and Sticky Date Pudding for dessert. You are allowed to BYO with a very fair $5.00 corkage per bottle. I HIGHLY recommend THREE ROOMS and look forward to going again. Congratulations and Thank You Three Rooms for an exceptional evening and providing a lovely venue with great food that surely is fantastic value for money.

Charming and rustic place with a delicious menu that offers great options. $30 for 2 courses $35 for three. Very high quality ingredients. Cannot miss if you're in this part of town!

Arrived without a reservation and we were made very welcome. The service was friendly and quick.
Our meals were well presented and the taste, exceptional.

Just went there yesterday and it was pretty good! 35$ for 3 courses. I had the garlic bread, steak and almond brownie and my partner had the prawn cocktail, pork and sticky date pudding. No complaints from us! Will be going back in the future.
