Not impressed. Service is very slack. We arrived, not notified of any change in menu. 5 staff members were behind the bar serving two ladies who obviously had a complaint. None of them even accommodated us. Then, after 10 minutes of waiting to be served at the bar by at least someone, the staff then turned to other people who arrived in the bar that moment. We felt very excluded. At the same time, a group of 8 had walked out with us because they hadn't been served and were waiting for service, after 20 minutes of being seated. This is horrible. Kaiteriteri is an absolutely beautiful place, but the hospitality ruins the experience. The service staff ruined the business. I work in hospitality myself so I know what is usually expected. The mouse trap complaint button was probably the only thing I was actually interested in.

Came back again this year because last year we had the best steak ever at Beached Whale. We were looking forward to come back this year and again steak was amazing. Also service was superb. We were going to order another steak main for our son, one of bar staff was super helpful - suggested a smaller steak for him and priced it accordingly. We all loved it and will come back next year. We looking forward to it :-) Thank you beached whale, the staff and awesome steak chef.

Can't handle the busy period it seems. Wasn't exactly heaving and were told over an hour wait for food. Ok if you are there for a few beers and a chat but if you've got a bunch of hungry kids waiting in the dining area then its just stressful. Had to cancel our order and go to the Shoreline which was very much sorted.

We asked if we could order from the kids menu and we were refused because we weren't children seems unreasonable because we didn't want the big meal and we are still paying for a kids meal. Also they brought the meals out so far apart that 2 of us had finished first and the rest of us were waiting. They said it was because we were all on different checks but we ordered in pairs and those pairs meals were delivered seperate so it didn't really make sense. One of us accidentally ate the wrong salad because they came out so far apart and we we told them what had happened they said the kitchen was closed and couldn't make another. Then argued with us about it I understand it was an inconvenience but the whole situation could of been handled with a little more grace, no refund, no salads. Won't be coming back.

Great fish and chips and friendly staff. The pub quiz is great fun and you have the chance to win bar bucks. Decently price food and drink.
