  Went there tonight for the 1st time. Best seafood chowder I have tasted in Nelson/Tasman. Superb fresh bread and truly wonderful, prompt, friendly and professional service.
  It has become my new favourite place 😊👍

  Used to enjoy going to the stables every week without fail, sometimes numerous times a week. The draw card was their cheesecake which was bought every time at $12 per slice which was on the high side then although was just tolerable in comparison to the size of the slice of cheesecake received. How ever recently took a friend there telling him how good the place was n how good the cheesecake was only to find that the owner has halved the size of the cheesecake portion yet still expects patrons to pay $12 per slice, so portion size has been reduced by 50% yet the owner still feels it's fair to charge full original price at $12 for something that's pitiful. The staff there are very good and friendly and always look after us but I can't say the same about the owner. The staff have spoken to him about the complaints of the cheesecake portions and they've been ignored, I personally emailed him expressing my concerns over the changes he's made to portion sizes in comparison to what he charges and he doesn't even have the courtesy to even reply which shows he doesn't give a stuff about what his customers think in general let alone his regulars. I won't be supporting his bar/restaurant anymore until he does what's right n reduces his price per portion or increases his portions to what they were for the price he's charging and I certainly won't be sending anymore people to his establishment as I have done in the past or recommending it. Once again the staff were brilliant but it's being let down from the owner.

  Very unscrupulous management at this establishment, especially when it comes to letting problem gamblers blow all their money, even after complaining to the management they let this person blow between $12000 and $20000. I hope they lose their licence to have pokies there, because its not monitored the way it should be.

  Nice more traditional.pub atmosphere. Good service and range of beer. I enjoyed the visit and a nice quiet beer.

  These guys looked after us for the wake of a dear friend. The food was awesome, the staff were brilliant, and the proprietor was just lovely. Highly recommend.

  An old stable that could have been refurbished awesomely on the inside and looks it from outside but sadly is lacking on the inside. A bit of a bar
