Really great setting, atmosphere. The sticky wings weren't actually sticky wings at all but they were good.
Child friendly, great selection of beers.

I ate here the other night and had a great meal. I am coeliac and have a few other dietary requirements so eating out at a new place always makes me a little nervous. The waitor was amazing, communicating well between me and the kitchen and was so understanding, can quite often feel like an alien. The chef was lovely too and made me a very tasty salmon nicoise. Will def be returning.

Had heard good things about this place, so when I was overnighting in Christchurch I thought I'd give it a go. I ordered the steak rare. After waiting about 30 +minutes I felt like they had forgotten me. Following this one of the staff members then informed me that they had just had several orders which was the reason for the delay. After another 10 minutes I finally got the meal. About 40 minutes wait for a rare steak.

I consider myself a very patient person and never try to make a fuss, but couldn't help feeling like they didn't really care about me. I ordered the steak rare and the place was definitely not busy. Not sure if it was because I was there on my own therefore they paid less notice. Not trying to be vindictive but I just don't think it was acceptable under the circumstances for it to take that long. It's not so much the delay that was disappointing but more how it made me feel.

It's a shame because the food was actually pretty good but it's hard to enjoy when it's soured by the service.

I used to enjoy dropping by the Twisted Hop and had recommended it to several people--but not again! My beer (Hopback) which I have had before and enjoyed came out flat and appallingly watered down tasting and the fries were poorly done, mealy without any salt and the aioli was runny and flavorless! When two beers and an order of fries cost $30 one expects a lot more. Greatly disappointed. I'm not sure if management has changed or perhaps they just don't give a damn any more. I'll drive an extra few minutes and go to Pomeroys next time!

Unfortunately, very rude staff rushing their paying customers well before their posted closing time. Food was really disappointing and overpriced.

Fantastic range (15+) of craft beers and ciders and knowledgeable staff. Food good pub standard, not quite 'gastro'
