I hated the food here before new management took over. It was like food they just chucked in the Microwave and reheated it. I had the curry this one time and it was like those sauces you get from the Supermarket and chicken meat was not tender at all. Ripping customers off whoever the old owners were y'all should be ashamed!! But WOW at this place now that it's under new management whoever the Chef/s is/are omg the food is amazing! All our meals were delicious even the kids meals are a good size and everything was cooked fresh and with effort and in my opinion i think i'm getting value for $. My family and i have come here quite abit in like the last 3 months. Also customer service was very friendly and attentive never would i have thought this place would be now 1 of my favourite Restaurants. My family and i will defz keep coming back😊

Turns out a lot of riders (160 registered) arrived grabbed a drink, and couldn't spot a BBQ to save themselves. Very disappointing. Suspect after-party will be elsewhere next year!

I am pleased to announce that Andy Laloli proprietor of the Speights Ale House Ferrymead has kindly stepped forward and offered us the use of his premises for a Post Ride after-party. If the weather is fine (which its forecast to be) then a BBQ will be laid on for us, if the weather is not too good then we will have use of the function room and a range of meals via the restaurant.response / report this review -

Nice Speights Ale house, here for a charity quiz night with the fam. Wedges with bacon and cheese were great. Fishermans basket was a bit skint on prawns. -1 star for the music being so loud it drowns out the atmosphere.

Good choice of ales and a huge screen to watch live games on. However, the bar stools are heavy to move and uncomfortable to sit on. The staff are friendly and attentive, they regularly clear the tables of empty glasses and seem cheerful. Good outdoor areas and very large inside. Shame they put the live band on stage after the rugby. Crusaders lost and everyone got up and left - the band played to only a handful of people. Better to put the band on before a large sports event, to build the atmosphere! (just a suggestion). We will definitely be back to this pub to enjoy the great beer and warm welcome.

One of our worst dining experiences in a very long time. One of the meals was sent back, ordered medium rare, came out very well done. Paid $101 for drinks, entre and 2 mains. The quality was appalling to say the least! We would have had a better meal at Denny's. This is the second time we've had a disappointing dining experience here. Definitely won't be going back or recommending this to anyone!

Came just for drinks and snacks, service in the bar was prompt but not overly welcoming We were seated outside and the heating situation was below average, and staff didn't do anything to rectify that sitch, although looked like they may have been setting up for a gig that evening Overall pub had a nice feel we maybe just visited on the wrong day

Service is ok, nothing special about it. The waiter does not engage at all. Food is good, I had the pesto pasta, it was under seasoned, nothing I couldn't handle. I've been to this restaurant before and every time I come here I order the same dish, pesto pasta. The dish changes each time. The flavours and even the colour. I'm not too sure if chef's have changed or there is more than one chef so they do it there own way. But consistency would be great. I also noticed this with the desserts. Presentation and also areas like cookies had improved and the mud cake. Will still come back though.

The restaurant staff we're quick in finding us a table. Checked to make sure our meal was up to par. The restaurant was clean and tidy.

Staff are rude and don't know how to practice a fire drill properly. Don't recommend bringing family to this place.
