Really good beach with stunning views and a pontoon to jump off. The cove was spectacularly hot when I went after the long journey down the walkway. The beach itself is amazing but I would recommend going on boat there from Whitianga as the walk is quite tiring!! If you go here with Coramandel Tours then be warned it takes around an hour and a half altogether there and back from the cove (you have to walk down) and as you have only a 2 hour slot you get 30 minutes on the actual beach!

Enjoyed the cave cruzer adventures, unfortunately due to the king tide and supermoon we were unable to go into a couple of caves. However, it was still a blast, the staff are friendly and the guide is very funny and entertaining. Highly recommend, loved Cathedral cove.

We took the glass bottom boat out to the marine park. Our captain was entertaining and informative. However we couldn't go snorkeling as the water was to cold. Would recommend this tour only when the water is warmer. Another great option for seeing this place would be by kayak.

One of the MOST breathtaking places I've ever been! I have traveled far and wide in New Zealand and this is one of it's crowning jewels for sure! It is worth going out of your way to visit! 😊👍

It's a nice long walk to get there, but the reward is fantastic, a cave with two open ends, try the acoustics. Early or late at the day are the best photo moments. The children loved to play with the stone piles.

Rightly considered one of the best beaches in the world. Get there early in the morning and you can have the whole place to yourself.

This beach is relatively safer and cleaner to swim, as compared to other beaches. To reach the cove, one has to hike a good half hour from the car park, probably an hour if you were unlucky like me and had to park in town. All that said, it's all worth when you'll find yourself walking on white sand under the cove! There's also a small waterfall on the other end in case you need a quick shower to get rid of the sand.

Beautiful area, there are three different beaches you can visit with varying g lengths of walks. Cathedral Cove is furtherer away at a 45 minute walk but is a definitive part of the experience.
If you are visiting it is hard to get carparks at the top so try to find paid parking on a locals lawn (we paid $10 to a lovely lady who had a sign out) or in the township there is parking and a paid bus service to get to the top.response / report this review -

Love this beach! About a 40min walk down to Cathedral Cove. Lots of hills and steps. Well worth it though!
