Wairua Lodge is incredible. Not only the location, scenery and atmosphere but everyone is friendly, and helpful. I can not rave enough about it, it's a must stay! Our room was perfect and ckean, and we felt we were able to explore the property at ease. I love this lodge!
Beautiful location, friendly staff, and great facilities. I would strongly recommend to anyone wanting a relaxing getaway.
10/10 must do for any couple or family alike. The Hosts Charles & Tam are just wonderful people, very helpful and friendly. As for the location all we can say is WOW!! The bush walks are just amazing and the swimming holes are a perfect way to finish the walks. You can tell the hosts are passionate about what they do and where they live and why wouldn't they be :) Highly recommend
Cabins in the wilderness. Communal kitchen and BBQ. Camp fire at night. Hot tub and secluded tree top bath. Swimming holes and hammocks to lazy in. Easy waterfall walk in the Bush. Friendly family owned. Ideal for a romantic get away with no distractions. Stayed 3 nights over New Year's 2016
We've visited the Wairua Lodge three times now and I can't wait to go back. Tam and Charlie are the most wonderful hosts, relaxed, friendly and helpful beyond the call of duty even welcoming us into their home to watch the end of the rugby and the yacht racing. The wine and platter of nibbles were an added treat. Each time we have been there we have enjoyed the spa and the stunningly romantic treetop bath house and also made the short journey into Whitianga to visit the Lost Springs Spa and Hot Pools which is a definite must. One of the highlights of our last visit was wandering down to the river by torchlight to see the hundreds of glow worms lining the banks. It's a place where you can let the hustle and bustle of city life disappear for a while surrounded by peace and natural beauty.
These were an amazing couple of days. No TV, no radio, no cell phone coverage. Just nature. Untouched by humans. We really enjoyed the open spa-bath overlooking the most amazing piece of nature. No photo can do right to the unbelievable beauty that God created and portrayed in every direction you look. Not denying that I was a little concerned as we hit the gravel road, winding through the mountains to get there not to mention the little stream that we had to drive through to get to the lodge. But, my word.. what a treat. What a view. What an amazing place to live. Thank you to Charles and Tam. It was an amazing experiencethe nibbles and really good bottle of red on arrival made it just a little more special. Everything was of the highest standard and well looked after. We will, without a doubt, go back again.
This place is heaven on earth. I have just recommended it to friends and just thinking about it makes me wish I could go back! One day I will. Charles and Tammy were delightful hosts and were incredibly helpful. They even shared their wine with us!
Swimming in the river was wonderful. Love the place.
