Nice room, seemed pretty new. Hotplate and microwave in the room. Best bit was the view we got sitting on the veranda outside the room

The room was clean, A bit small for a motel but ok, actually I thought we booked a big double bed room, maybe my mistake. It has kitchenette , but no hit plates to cook. But there is a kind of hot pot, but in very poor condition. Dishes was not very clean. The shower has not much pressure,.most annoying point but also the mountain view, watch the photoyou just watch in front of a steel wall. In case you come before 2 pm, there is a bench in front of the office. Where you can sit and wait, if they not coming you have to call them and wait a couple of minutes. There are many motels, in fox glacier ,..for summer we try the ones next to it or in the village, that one is outside the village but close to the lake Matheson, A very beautiful lake, A must do there ! If you need to make a choice, fox glacier or Franz Josef,Franz Josef is nicer but fox glacier is more quiet.

Motel comes with basic amenities and nice clean rooms. Bathroom was also designed to be elderly friendly, with a foldable seat in the shower and a heater where you'd dry yourself.

Third time here, from the UK. Looking forward to the fourth. Always want to stay longer than the three nights we usually stay. Good location, good rooms, nice people. A bit pricey, but you pays your money..

The staff at the reception was very rude and impatient. They charged our credit card without notifying us before we checked in, when we wanted to pay cash instead to avoid the surcharge, the man at the reception desk said that he would not accept our paying method and blatantly told us that we could ' Find somewhere else to stay.' We were disappointed at the attitude we recieved from the staff. I would not recommend this motel to anyone as it had made our time at New Zealand much less enjoyable.

Sunset motel rooms was a bit small. Didnt feel like we had much privacy to our neighbours. The receptionist was not very helpful which was a shame as we were first timers to Hanmer Springs. When we walked into our room it smelt. I wouldn't recommend this to anyone. I am positive you can find better.

Clean motel. I appreciated the thick blanket, eztra pillows, and a good heating system especially during winter season. Owners were friendly. Great views all around. Easy to walk to the main road.

Cozy place situated literally about 1 minute from the centre of town. The room came with all required amenities and our stay was comfortable; sufficient heating was provided also given ours was a Winter visit. Laundry access hours were somewhat restrictive.
