Typical "NZ" small town place. Good food, good price, but don't expect gourmet offerings. Everything comes with chips or cheap Supermarket coleslaw

Don't let the name dissuade you, the food was really very good, friendly staff, quaint atmosphere. You can tell this is the "nice" restaurant in town where people were dressed up for date night but we didn't look out of place in our travel clothes either. The restaurant is a little separated from the bar area which is nice. The food is a little pricey but you're in the middle of nowhere with very few options so we were quite pleased all around.

The food is good but little bit expansive. There is some choice for vegetarian that's good. The waitress are really nice and kind

Good food, nice environment and clean and tidy. Hot drinks can take a while but cold ones come quickly.

Arrived late. Greeted promptly and had a wonderful meal within 10 mins. Lovely to have a steak and veges with pota toes for kids! Great staff. Busy but controlled. Would love to live here!

Food was great but late service. They provide accommodation as well. The place is is just 2 minutes walk from the beach. Excellent location for the family.

Came in late (9:30 kitchen closes at 10) so asked server if it's too late to order and she insisted it was fine but only fried foods which is understandable and even asked if they were sure and once again they insisted it was fine and that it would be good. So ordered one of the bar fried foods from the 2 options they gave usone was chicken and the other was fish. Thank God we ordered the chicken! Used to work in the restaurant industry and what came out was something I wouldn't serve to my worst enemy! Everything looked like it had been put in the fryer at least 3 times and was probably hours old. The onion rings weren't even edible as they were black! Not sure if I'm going to get sick from everything else but was absolutely starving as it was a long day so ate what I could stomach. Chips were good though and had breakfast here this morning and that was pretty good too so that's why we came back. Suggest that your quality of food be actually monitored. If you wouldn't eat it don't serve it to others!

While this looks like a 'Pub Grub' place, it is actually an excellent place to eat. The Bread and Dips are the best I have EVER had in a restaurant (and I eat all over the world) and a chef who knows you need to use salt to make it tasty! Well done.
Succulent lamb shanks and excellent Cajun fish. Great wine by the glass. What is not to like!
