Best place to be as a tourist, hiker or tramper, even with tent.
Receptionist was very lovely and extremely helpful and generous. Showers, toilets and kitchen were very clean and tidy.
Would definetly be coming back.

The hostel itself is decent - it's clean, has everything you need, and has a super cosy feeling. However what made the whole experience amazing was the staff. The manager was extremely friendly - we were a group of 6, but she put us in 3 separate rooms so we could have more privacy. She made delicious scones. She helped with all our activities and even drove my friend to the start of the track. She went out of her way to make us feel welcome.

Was there with some friends May 2016 and absolutely loved the place. The Owner is wonderful and the staff are happy to help.
Good accommodation options with a big kitchen allowing plenty of space for lots of people to cook.
An easy walk down to the Pub if you want a drink or a meal.
Good location to everywhere and if you ask nicely the owner might organise a rental car so you can of the island without walking.

I promised myself and the owner I'd be back and I intend to keep that promise.

Great service. Lovely staff. Amazing deal. Comfy beds and the rooms are always warm. Great kitchen and got a great selection of DVDs. Warm and inviting atmosphere. Definitely will come again and again.

Awesome staff. Cool hostel with a great social environment. Good facilities. I was camping so I can't comment on the rooms but the campsite was mint 👌 would definitely go back.

A great atmosphere here. The rooms could get a little cold in the evening and the WiFi was a pain as you have to reset it every 50mb. Large kitchen and living room with outside area all of which are easily accessible from everywhere.

Very good hostel, clean and very friendly. Good kitchen that does get busy but a very good space for showers and kit cleaning after wet walks. Good camp ground too.

Fantastic backpackers - slightly pricier than others in New Zealand - but everything was clean and tidy. Plus, they were very accommodating. We were able to check in early in the morning to drop our stuff before doing the Rakiura track. The kitchen and lounge were a great refuge when we wanted to rest our tired feet. I'd definitely recommend staying here!
