Best tasting curries in Auckland good selection including vegetarian. BYO. Heat goes into cooking. Makes up for non Glen toiltes. Food streets ahead of other places round here.

Poor service and the food IS NOT authentic. I"ve had a fair amount of South Indian cuisine in my time and an idli (rice flour cake) DOES NOT crumble when you touch it. Their version of a Rawa Dosa (Semolina & Rice flour crepe) was astonishingly falling apart and the number of excuses they were ready with the last time we visited was the icing on the cake. "We have only one chef on duty" , "He must've overcooked the idli" - are you serious? Also, I fail to understand why their sambar is so runny with the dal and water splitting? This is not a rant but the reality of how restaurants try to flog off substandard food to those who are blissfully unaware of what the food should really taste like.

I'm not willing to pay $3.95 for a cheese paratha which in reality is a defrosted paratha with cheese sprinkled on top - I can make that at home. (see pictures)

Avoid if you're looking for an authentic South Indian cuisine experience. There are better places in Auckland vying for your coin.

Popped in for a Masala Dosa for lunch. It was massive - large enough to share with my young daughter. Love the style, ambience & the Dosa & dips was fab!

Good food, good times. Great north road where they have another is bigger for seating and for groups though. Booking ahead will not help you, their booking system is a notebook written in chicken scratch. Just turn up and hope for the best.

Interesting aesthetics, nice simple meat entree dishes but average main dishes. Prepared very nicely, lacking in flavour.

You gotta try the lounge. The IPA beer range is fantastic. The Indian street food is to die for. I loved the Spicy Cauliflower and Manchurian.

Went there the first time, staff was nice enough, ordered food and waited for over an hour and only got given 1/6 things we ordered. Staff literally walked past us for an hour. We left
Second time exact same thing. They didn't even remeber our order when we asked when our food was coming AFTER an hour of waiting again.
Over all, no good. Can comment on food cause we didn't get any 😂😂😂😂 don't recommend it.

Food is fresh and freshly prepared (yes, that means a bit of wait). All dishes were very aromatic and well balanced for spice. you can have it at a proper Indian rather than kiwi spicy level.
Friendly service - but it is family restaurant so can be little slow (if that bothers you you should go to a white tablecloth place with waiting staff)

Ambience is fine, little quirky - though the black tableware plus golden cutlery is a little odd
