    Dear Bart and Team,

We just wanted to drop a line to thank you all very much for making our engagement dinner last night a truly memorable one.

Everyone from the gentleman yesterday afternoon who introduced me to the Chef, who then arranged for Brendan to work with me to surprise my fiance, to the wonderful waiting staff, were superb!

The ambiance, food, wine, service and the lovely congratulations dessert plate was truly appreciated and the way you all made our night so special will never be forgotten.

We look forward to many more experiences over the years!

    Best regards,
    Chris and Karen

Lovely atmosphere and ambience. We were a group of 9 and most people enjoyed their meals, there was one of us who didn't enjoy the 'Beef Auckland' but the rest of the food was excellent. Staff were friendly and attentive. Views were amazing of the Auckland Harbour bridge. Would definitely come back.

The food was excellent but the bar and drinks service was non existent. No advice on the choice of wine and when we did order a bottle he failed to appear to pour it. His attitude was also rather surly. For such a top rated establishment, I found this disappointing.
The Food and food service was excellent.
    Would highly recommend.

Makes a perfect evening. Highly recommended for anyone celebrating a special occasion, my wife and I went for our 1 year anniversary and were pleasantly surprised by the extra thought that the kitchen and wait staff put in to evening and meals.

Special shout out to the whoever in the kitchen went the extra mile for dessert, I have enough brownie points to last till the next anniversary.

I've had the pleasure of dining at Sails two times on my travels and both times were a culinary blissful experience. The harbor view, the attention to detail, and most importantly the seaford was prepared beyond my expectations.

We had a party of 20 and very one was happy with their meal.

We were booked for Xmas dinner 2016 (booked this night six months in advance for our family as we truly love going to Sails). Very disappointed in the Xmas meal and explained this to the waiter at the end of the meal who kindly passed on the information to the owner. The owner came to our table to explain that a new European chef had just started and was still being trained in the New Zealand "cuisine tastes". The Christmas dinner was a set menu - the appetizers were fresh oysters, smoked salmon and foccacia and oil. Two in our group don't eat oysters or salmon so unfortunately nothing there for them to enjoy apart from a piece of bread. The entrees we chose were prawn cocktails with black mayo. Unfortunately no description in the menu to say squid ink in the mayo. We should have asked but didn't so learned a valuable lesson. We scraped as much as possible of the squid ink off which overpowered the taste of the prawns. Mains were good (Auckland Beef - a take on Beef Wellington) and dessert was ok. One of us ordered cheese and crackers which arrived with huge blown up crackers almost covering the entire plate - the crackers shattered everywhere when he tried to break off a piece - he didn't bother with trying to eat the cheese as it wasn't easy with the crackers. We left feeling very disappointed as we have always enjoyed awesome meals at Sails in the past. We will go to Sails only when the menu is a la carte but not on Xmas day again. Thanks Sails for listening to our concerns on the day you were very gracious about the situation and made amends for which we were grateful for.

Although the food was absolutely worth it and the service from the wait staff was fabulous we were totally not happy for the reason being, we were there to Celebrate our dear friends milestone 60th birthday and we did book well ahead and gave our numbers. We obviously took it for granted that we would all be seated together?, but unfortunately this was not so :( Also the wait was for nearly half an hour when we did notice our tables were well and truly ready but we were seated at the bar instead and told our table would be ready soon!!!!
We were how ever seated on 2 tables next to each other but not close enough that we were "together". We did request for our tables to be put together at which the lovely waitress agreed to help us out but unfortunately another person who may have had seniority over this waitress or may have even been the manager?, declined our request?
However, he did say that once we finish dinner they would be happy to turn the table to meet up with the other table at dessert time! Honestly, whats the point at dessert time?
At the end of the day, they were $2000 happier and we were not so much.
