Clean room but much smaller than advertised. TV was old and outdated. Shower was awesome with good pressure. Amenities were good and restaurant food was really good. Try the roasted carrots. Overall staff was very friendly and helpful.
Great location. Room was very comfortable and clean. Would definitely stay again.
Had to stay here for 2 nights.
Thought it was a 2 star hotel.
The rooms were clean, staff friendly.
The lift was not working and has not for quite some time.
So only one slow lift for multiple floors.
This presents a huge fire risk.
How are they able to transport disabled ? In case of emergency?
Not a place that I would stay at again
Nice hotel, well situated, lots of great places for food within staggering distance.
Free wifi
Cafe etc
Pay parking, but cheaper or free parking is near by
Two gripes.
1) one of the tallest buildings on Christchurch ( due to Mother Nature). But no observation areas except the room you are in.
2) lifts. Only 2 lifts, for a 20+ floor building, and one lift is under maintenance, so the other is used by residents, house keeping and guests.
The location is great, room is clean and quiet. The bathroom is clean and modern. Staffs are very friendly and polite. Public parking lots and nearby if you are driving. The lift was under some major upgrade while we stayed there, so there was only one lift that was working in the whole hotel. The hotel is within walking distance to New Regent Street Precinct and Chrishchurch Trams.
Great hotel in a nice central location. It's within walking distance of all main Christchurcg attractions and directly opposite the lovely new Regent St with many cool bars and restaurants. Rooms were neat, tidy and well maintained. Free wifi is an added bonus
Wow what a great experience.
We had the unfortunate situation of having our flight diverted and were put up for the night at Rendezvous by our airline. It was obviously not the best of situations but Rendezvous really went above and beyond to help us and make our stay as enjoyable as possible. The reception staff were exceptional, we were obviously not in the best of moods the next morning when having to chase airlines for flights but they were so helpful and let us use the phone, gave us advice, looked up info, called taxi etc. That really stopped a bad situation from getting to a break down point!
Rooms themselves were lovely. Bed comfy, plenty of plugs next to night stand, comfy back boars in bed to lean on, air con easy to use, and my favourite: big tumblers! I really hate standard hotel tiny glasses, and always have to get up in the middle of the night to refill so big thanks for that. Bathroom great with a powerful shower, big mirror that didn't steam up, pretty reasonable hair-dryer. Only complaint was I didn't like the TV software, felt very dated compared to the very modern hotel, but it worked so not a big downer, just felt a bit jarring next to the standard of everything else.
Our room was a bit small but didn't feel overly tiny at all, pretty standard hotel size. Our view wasn't great, but the whole of Christchurch wasn't pretty in the storms anyway.
Restaurant was nice, lovely food. Bar area was cosy with the fires. Didn't use other facilities so can't comment.
Overall have nothing but good feelings for Rendezvous, they were the one bright thing in our otherwise rubbish day!
Very pleasant although the lifts broke down. Were soon sorted. Returned early afternoon and my room had not been serviced. By which time I placed a DND sign on my door.
Reception and other staff were always helpful and pleasant.
Yes, I would stay again. Good location.
Very nice spacious rooms. Staff were so helpful. Fantastic position for walking around Christchurch. Chic area. Good shops and restuarants all around the hotel. The tram stops right outside the door. The fantastic Issac Theatre Royal opposite how could we ask for more. Breakfast and staff was the best of all the hotels we stayed in over 4 weeks.
Rooms are very small.. the very definition of compact! Clean and comfortable though.
When we stayed only one lift was working and it was constantly in use, on some occasions we waited over 5 minutes for the lift.
The on-site restaurants is moderately expensive but the food is quite good.
Location is great
Room was clean & well maintained except for the cupboard door. The door was so loose that it did fall on us.
Fresh Fruits in Breakfast can be improved.
Nice hotel, comfortable beds, very nice bathrooms. I would call these European-sized rooms. Staff does a nice job, but it is usually very busy at the front desk. Hair dryer is in the closet, not the bathroom. Slow elevators for such a big place, so there can be a wait.
Great location and wonderful staff. Room was much better than on their site. There are plenty of great things to do in Christchurch and many fantastic thing under construction.
The rooms here are small, but the hallways are even more narrow. Truly the most European (German?) of the hotels I stayed at in New Zealand. Overall very clean and minimalist.
Oh, and don't try to order complicated drinks from the bar in the lobby. They don't know how to make it and will take forever and a day to figure it out, serving everyone else around you while you wait, seemingly forever.
