Great place to visit. The bird life ia magnificent, thanks to years of constant pest control.

Lovely scenery, some of the tracks are more suited to a 4x4, a standard car wouldn't make it very far. There is so much to see, and it's a bit of an adventure getting there too!!

Beautiful scenery, quiet and lots of native bush and wildlife. Also has a campground that's awesome for families

Beautiful bush on first part of timber trail
Track a little muddy on second half in small sections. Enjoyed the ride

Timber Trail was fantastic. One great weekend trip if you've got a bit of cycling fitness.

Largest native forest in the area, hardly anyone goes here. Recommend to visit Rimu Walk on Link Road or Totara Walk near the HQ.

Very remote. Rode the Timber trail with a group of friends. Did the entire 86 km in one day(training ride for the Old Ghost road). Best to do it over 2 days if you want to take in the historic sites and relax more. The tails are very well maintained. A bit muddy over the top part but it had been raining for 3 days. You can hear nothing but birds and insects. It's amazing to be in some of the beautiful NZ Bush. This is a must do.
