Stayed here in October 2017
Great little motor Lodge for your first night in New Zealand. We flew in to Auckland, arriving in the evening and needed a place to sleep for the night. Although the room was very old in style it was kept extremely clean and it looked like the shower had been recently updated. They also supply you with a small bottle of milk.
The host was very helpful and showed us the room and when to park when we checked in.

Friendly staff. Place was clean but a bit old and tired. Near a noisey road and one window wouldn't close completely. Good enough for what we needed, served us well but could do with a bit of a refurb or refresh.

Had a wonderful stay there!
Clean room with great wifi, friendly staff.
relatively wonderful motel which is well located, right across the pakuranga plaza. Very close to the market and bus stop.
Service is generally good.

We chose the rather ambitiously named executive studio unit located at the rear, which backs onto suburban neighbours and an adjacent small public reserve. The road traffic was unnoticeable but I couldn't attest for what it was like in the front units. There was little noise from neighbouring units but the motel wasn't very busy so it wasn't put to the test.
The decor is basic, the bed comfortable and the room clean and presentable. Management is polite and unobtrusive. The combined bathroom toilet is on the small side allowing for single use only.
The ordered breakfast (additional cost) arrived on time and was palatable and the choice basic.
Minor annoyances: The CRT TV's vertical hold was a little wonky at times indicating that it’s on its last legs. The radio in the bedside clock radio didn't work. The vertical blind over the ranch slider entrance is sad and old and offers the single choice of half open and half closed but you can use the chain to choose which half is which.
Major annoyances: The showers hot water supply is attuned to the speedy and lasts only until you're fully committed (4-5min) at which time you'll need to either turn the water off till ready to rinse or learn to enjoy the invigoration of a cold shower chaser.
The hot water tank must be small as leaving it 20 min allows the process to repeat itself.
I called this to the attention of the management when booking out the next day who said they were unaware of the issue, a claim I’m didn’t find convincing. However giving them the benefit of the doubt I settled for a minor discount but had to ask for it.
To be fair they did say that if we had mentioned it earlier they would have moved us to another room but I’m still a little dubious about their claim that no other guest has mentioned it before.
