  I'm biased, I grew up in Opunake, but I'm objective enough to recognise the campground as top notch in a great spot and coming back is always a treat.

  We went in winter which is not the best time to go. It was raining all the time. WiFi is not free. The small cabins are in deed small. There's a nice communal area and a kitchen.

  A great place to relax and enjoy a part of the Taranaki coastline. The campsite is close to town and other amenities, and with the beach being a stone's throw away - the kids will have endless hours of enjoyment

  management not very friendly and very frustrating getting in and out of the camp site with the swipe for your vehicle. .not recommended

  As a family we've been holidaying at opunake now for many years. Our 3 children and now our grandchildren throughly enjoy the safe beach and playground available. Craig and Jenny are awesome owners and can't do enough to make you feel welcome. A truly wonderful spot.

  Awesome place! Very friendly owners and great facilities. We stayed in one of the wooden cabins. They were clean, comfy and really cozy. Toilets and bathrooms were also clean and modern. So we had a very good time and a great stay.

  Amenities were top rate; tidy kitchen, clean bathrooms, provided bins etc. Grounds are well-maintained for tenting with generous power points. Right on the beach, and walking distance to the village. Easily worth the 6 hour drive.

  Love this place. Only stayed 1 night. Friendly helpful staff and stunning scenery. Lots of walking tracks.
