Burger and beer deal for $20 was very good value, and the food was excellent. I also had the Tiramisu, which was divine. I agree about the decor comments from some other reviews, feels like an airport lounge, but other than that the staff and food were top notch.

New decor is a huge downgrade from the old one. Half-way between a real-estate office and a kid's bedroom. Not a fan Where has Mac's bar grandeur gone?? the food has lost it's taste, but that was already a year ago.

Unfortunately this place is going down hill and to make the experience worse on the night of the Lions V Abs test we embarked to meet friends anticipating our entry to the EMPTY establishment and there was clear room for 100 extra people let alone our group of 3 during a quiet time (mid way thru abs test) where we were told we weren't coming it because it was FULL, from the 3 major bars this was our 1st preference for more than one event but this experience has left a sour taste as food and drink was preordered by our friends inside and weren't allowed in. Waste of time/money and this will be the last time we organize a night out in favour of the more accomodating bars down the road. Looks like they didn't want to look after loyal customers but save space for the lions supporters and to top it off come out with the most unconvincing excuse. PS: we did enjoy the better bars down the road in the end but the experience should not have happened !

A real Spanish food in auckland. Sharing is a key to a good food experience - Share a variety of Tapas dishes, add some bread with Hamon - the real one!!! And a paper thin pizza with pesto and cheese. Add some great beer or wine, and enjoy the great atmosphere. You won't regret it!
