Beautiful place. Recovering great from the earthquakes

I stayed here overnight in my van which broke down in the evening. The woman running that place let me use the landline to call some help and I could use the very good WIFI to call my parents home in Germany. The woman tried to help me the best she could and called a business in Kaikoura to suspend my flight I was booked in but couldn't board as my car didn't work. I got a very good coffee and could stay in the Lodge with a beautiful view on Mt Lyford whilst waiting for the mechanic to arrive.

Very friendly staff and lovely atmsphere with a big open fire. We stayed in a motel room and it was pristine! A double bed and a single bed with kitchenette and bathroom. Great food. Loved it!

Lovely log fire. Great pizza. Bunk bed pretty uncomfortable, but reasonable rates so ok.
