  1st stayed here last year when it was getting late heading north on the main road, wasn't expecting a back street rural motor camp to be as nice as this. It's a real gem & great for the kids with all the animals about. Stayed there twice this year during school holidays to break up the time on the road & no stress getting in & out of the place & back on the main highway. Only negative is the free wifi was frustrating, kept disconnecting unless I stood outside the unit!

  Pedalled into Cheviot 1/15/2012..part of a solo bicycle tour of NZPleasantly surprized by the comfortable atmosphereand super friendly staff at this campground..Very laid back 50's feel to the place..nice shady spot to pitch the tent..right next to a nice Dutch couple also cycle touringIf I'm lucky enough to return to NZ for another tour..This camp is on my return list..A nice break from the larger campgrounds..I will say that all the campgrounds in NZ are heads above the camps here in the USA.

  What a pleasant surprise when you step in to your room. Modern and extremely clean. The owner was awesome and friendly. Id Recommend it to anyone
