Perfect summit. Hard walk up the slope. Usually windy and snow/ice in the crater even in summer
An epic park with several trails for different abilities. There's a pedestrian suspension bridge that is so small that only one person can cross at a time; real Indiana Jones stuff!
There are great views over valleys and several waterfalls, but with the few hours we spent exploring we could not find a clearing that allowed views over the surrounding towns. Mt. Taranaki is so high that it will have great sight-lines, assuming there is a vantage point somewhere.
The facilities near the parking lot are a somewhat rustic.
Beautiful view, while flying by on the way to Queenstown.
A great majestic mountain to climb with panoramic views of Taranaki, its wild west coast to the north, the central hinterland and stretching as far as the eye can see to the south. Well worth the climb! Be prepared though - As captivating as it is, it can turn deadly in the blink of an eye
A special mountain, with many hiking opportunities. It is useful to have a good condition because the road to the top is long.
A great park with well maintained tracks. Climb the mountain before dawn so you have the best chance of a clear view.
