Hi Im siona fernandes from auckland and
This week i was in taranaki to present at the local council conference and upon invitation to speak at sport taranaki.

I have represented nz as at london 2012 olympic games. i am the olympic ambassador, and have educated myself with two masters degrees.

Yesterday at the end of day trip, my friends made a stop at countdown spotswood taranaki. I decided to use this time to stretch my legs in the carpark. When suddenly a disrespectful confrontation by cody who introduced himself as "the manager sorry i dont have my name tag" accused me of looking through car windows in their carpark. In Implying i was a thief he stated
"Ive had many thefts in the carpark. What are u doing here? Please leave!"

Feeling mistreated perhaps as a brown indian girl so I questioned his lack of insight. However cody stated i was picking an argument with him and that he would call the cops on me for doing so.
So i asked if i could let my friends know of this who were shopping instore and yet again he throw the" il call the cops threat if i set foot instore"
At this point all i could imagine was is this racism in action?
What meaning do u see in such human behaviour? Did cody possess the right skills that his job may demand? Does one still have to use the word racism in the 21st century?

Good shopping. Staff a bit misinformed. Called them one day to fill a soda stream cannister, the lady said they do them and gave a price. I arranged my trip around Countdown the Valley and when I got there I was misinformed! Pity I never asked who I spoke to.
