A lake in front of a mountain makes a beautiful scenery. The lake is mirrored as the name suggests. Would recommend to visit this place if you're a photographer or just around visiting this beautiful country.
You can see a lake it has ducks and fish good for a break from the driving
Well, it's basically as advertised! You get a great mirror view of the surrounding landscape -- makes for great photos.
They've also had a clever sign, with "Mirror Lakes" written on it, except vertically flipped so it shows up the right way up in the reflection.
Can't hurt to stop by if you're passing by, but it would probably be somewhat heavily trafficked. Sorry if you're looking for a quiet and tranquil place to be, I guess?
I have visited mirror lakes very often. During early morning its so beautiful
Nice place to stop at on the way to somewhere else. Great boardwalk to walk along side the mirror lakes. Good accessibility for prams and wheelchairs. Information boards provide details of the flora and fauna in the local area.
When it's a still day the view is quite breathtaking.
Not worth the stop. Tired and overrun. I suspect this is here simply add a stop for the buses
If there's one place for a quick stop on the way to Milford sound, I would suggest this if the weather is calm. You will see a beautiful reflection of the mountains in the scenic lake
Really lovely place with informational boards about beech trees and wildlife. Definitely best to visit when sunny with still winds, as even small wind currents can leave ripples but otherwise will still be a worthwhile stop on the way to Milford Sound.
Nice little stop on the drive to Milford sounds. Very small lake. Few ducks in the lake. Of you enjoyed this, you must visit Lake Hayes which is 5 stars
Recommend to dropby early, if u go up to take a cruise at Milford sound. Probably between 7:30am-8:00am, u get a higher chance to see a mirror. I returned again after Milford sound, at around 3pm plus, the lake did not show Much of a mirror due to the wind.
Highly recommend this place. It's a 2-3 mins walk from the place u park ur car. Fairly easy to walk. U can find inner peace by just looking at the mountain and the lake. Enjoy !
If the wind is rippling across the water you don't get the fill effect of the reflection in the water but a beautiful spot to take photos.
Pleasant, if there is low/no wind to allow the lakes to be in mirror mode! Worth a stop though as its right beside the road
Don't Even think about stopping there in The morning, it will be overcrowded and full of busses (be extremely careful on that part of The road), in The evening it is better to stop by.
Probably The less intresting stop on The Milford road, But still a Good one.
Beautiful lakes in a beautiful area. But when we saw the lakes they weren't rally "mirroring". There are many more beautiful spots on the road to Milford Sound.
