Beautiful property run by the lovely Anne and Eddie. Just 15 minutes from Hobbiton, the lodge is very quiet, clean and has some of the most comfortable beds ever! Anne and Eddie also cook delicious full breakfasts. Highly recommend!

Location: dont' trust google map and in car satnav. We gone past the place and still wanted to check what the map shown, just to go back another 14km. If you are on Sh1, from Hamilton, this is 10km BEFORE Ti Rau, not 4km after. Small LKL sign in blue on the left. Highlight recommend owner to update signage or do some work on google maps and google my business stuffs.

Everything else: much better than what they described on the website. Owner was very patient even though we have a toddler that was not feeling well. Food were plenty, nice and on time, even though we was running a bit later than booked, due to our boy. As per eco friendly which is important to me, what I have seen match that. So it is really good.

Can't wait to get their the next time we need a little retreat.

Lake Karapiro Lodge has wonderful views and superb Neo-Edwardian buildings and decoration.
The place is very comfortable.
The lodge obtained its five stars in 2009, but since then things might have changed a little.
The room had big cobwebs on the lights, the bathroom hair on the floor. We could make tea in the room, but for that you have to put your kettle on the floor at where the power plug is. No milk. While the food was great, dinner has to be ordered at booking time. Who decides before Lamb or Beef two weeks before the actual vacation time?

To summarize, while the place is wonderful the attention to detail was lacking.
It deserves 3 stars, not five.

"Family man" must have stayed at a different place to me!!!! I have stayed at this lodge a couple of times and have found the meals, accommodation and hospitality excellent. Certainly can recommend it.

Dont be fooled by the 5 star propaganda,the people who run this buisness are crooks and will lie to you about the service they provide! never been treated so horrible.discraceful buisness! YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!

Also note that the exact same comment before ours,the "scrambled egg" recommendation is written on all reviews on different websites for this buisness,amongst others,so obviously they are writting there own comments!
