The Bar: Friendly Service, Great Specials, Largest (projection) TV in town, 3 total screens (all show the same thing), free pingpong, free foosball, darts and more. Family friendly.

Wi-Fi: (anywhere) 30 min/day free (per device); 2.5 GB/2days/4 devices for 2 night hotel stay. Very weak (almost unusable in the furthest room (6a).

The Hotel: Friendly Staff, Clean Rooms, hydraulic (radiative) heating, thin walls, no daily room service, coin operated washer & dryer, decent (but limited) TV channel selection. Comfortable beds, warm comforters. No refrigerator. Hot pot (kettle), free tea & coffee (continental breakfast is typically included)

    Short walk from train station.

    Enjoyed a late Sunday afternoon
locally brewed Ruapehu Brewing Co pale Ale at Kings bar. Very interesting venue with realistically drawn prints of International Celebrities.

Stopped by the restaurant for dinner. We booked since we had quite a few people but it was fairly empty, but that could have been because it was only around 6pm.
The menu wasn't too big and there were a few options which were quite tempting. Went with the ribs. It wasn't too bad. The ribs were tender and falling off the bone and the sauce wasn't too bad. The portions were quite good. The burgers were quite big and the steaks were cooked to order.
    Decent and friendly service.
