I went into kakapo ink recently to talk to an artist I had in mind. I had brought a friend along with me and as we made it out of the elevator we were immediately met with a very aggressive dog barking and growling at us. My friend started to have a bad panic attack so I took her back down stairs and sat with her till she was calm. I went back in alone because I still really liked the artist’s work and while I sat waiting to talk with someone I noticed the studio had a strange musty odour to it. The dog had calmed down but was now walking all through the studio and this made me worry about how hygienic the tattoo spaces would be. I then talked briefly to Sally and Sam, the bosses of the studio, and learned that they do not tattoo, which I thought was odd. The artists seemed nice but I was not comfortable with the studio’s hygiene or general environment. I did not get tattooed here and will not be recommending it to anyone.

Had a lovely time chatting with the owners and getting this beautiful tattoo from Andre, next time I'm in New Zealand definitely coming back!

Awesome tattoo studio in Wellington. I've had nearly all of my tattoos done here, and have never had a bad experience. All of the artists are amazing, and everyone there makes you feel comfortable and at home. Great prices, great people, and great location. 100% recommended

It's exactly as I wanted it! Andre did an amazing job. Great price, super clean, great location and awesome people. Can't recommend the place enough!
