Easy, short walk, beautiful and perfect for whenever you have spare hour waiting for your skydiving

Quite an easy walk; make sure you go when the weather's great and calm. (The sign there recommends dawn or dusk for still waters and great reflections.)

If you can afford to walk a bit more, you might want to head further down the tracks to the other lookouts too.

Even without still water, it's stll well worth the short walk. Would be even greater if the reflection is there.

Jelly viewpoint is NOT the best! Go to Reflection island lookout instead, you will find something more worth it. It may take longer time, but you can see / take more beautiful picture.

Lake Matheson is totally worth the visit and 90 minute hike around. It was pretty windy when we went so no crazy reflection but still a lovely afternoon stroll.

Very beautiful reflection lake and nature. You need to go there by the time the sun is raising then you will see heaven!!

An easy walk with stunning reflections in the lake of Aoraki. Well worth the 40 minutes on a good cloud free day.

Only had time to do the walk to the jetty (other longer walks available). Takes about 45 mins (2.4 km one-way) for a round trip from the car park. A sign recommended to visit at dawn or dusk when the water isn't interrupted as much.

Photos dont do the ambience justice but you MUST come while the wind is low to get the full mirror effect (early morning up to approx 0930 worked for me). A must see on south island and worth the short detour. Walk around lake v pleasant - took me maybe 1.5hrs at a slow pace taking photos.

Try and go earlier in the day when the water is calm to make the most of the reflections the lake is famous for. Still a nice and easy walk, some talkative cows in the paddock next to the track when I was there.

We got lucky and caught the mirror lake at midday. A lovely view, even though it was cloudy. Easy walk, worth a shot if you're in the area!

Stunning views if the weather is nice. When I went there did all the walk and just as I am finishing the sky clears up. :-( Didn't want to go back to see the reflections. But I m sure it's worth it.

Beautiful mirror lake that often gets overlooked since the town's namesake is the nearby glacier. Go at dusk or dawn to find the stillest water for a fantastic mirror lake experience. About 1.5 hour loop walking but there are several viewpoints you can go to and return from there if you're short on time. But truly a lovely walk if you have the time
