just fine for standard indian takeaways, not as creamy as i expected, but good value for the price, $64 for 4 people for dinner.

Indian spice north Dunedin has been my local go-to Indian restaurant for the past two years. Personally I have been very frequent costumer (2-3 times a week) to either escape the the university (prison) hall meals or to warmup the insides on a rainy cold Dunedin winters day. Wether it be a quiet dine-in with friends, rowdy byo's, court session antics or the quick dash takeaway option I have been treated to amazing food and friendly professional customer service. Unfortunately either staffing or management has changed recently and this place for me has turned from a 10 star to a il get a expensive bagel next door instead. Since the unfriendly & unwelcoming new staff have taken the floor I have been over-charged a few times (no mathematics skills), been charged enormously extra for my dietary requirements that are medical endorsed (never been charged in the past nor is it stated anywhere in-store), and the worst of all I have been turned away 20mins prior to closing in which the staff said sorry we close at 2pm sharp and need time to set up dinner arrangements? I have never encountered such an incredible demeaning change in events in hospitality before. I only write this hurtful review because I dearly love this place and it is terribly sad to be witness to the immense downward spiral Indian spice is currently on. Unfortunately I will not be coming back in the near future, nor will the revenue bringing friends or byo's. In the sheer hope that Indian spice may return to being the greatest experience in North Dunedin, maybe.. just maybe I will return. Their butter chicken is really good and on Mondays you can get $10 curry which is a great deal! Call ahead of time for pick up because there's usually a line of people waiting during busy hours.

Asked for a hot butter chicken and it was barely even a mild. It also tasted incredibly bland and the provided Naan was burnt.
