Charmingly laid out and really well set up. Super friendly staff. Very close to Pukekura Park. Love the friendly dog too.

We stayed here on the 22 of July 2017 and had such a lovely time. The accommodation we booked was the cottage with it's own bathroom and facilities. The room was well presented and very clean. The staff were friendly I would definitely recommend Ducks and Drakes to my family and friends in the future.

Good place to stay! Definitely better than the wha in New Plymouth. Lovely and very helpful owner. We had a clean couple room for about two nights and we really enjoyed our stay.

The owners are friendly and helpful, there's a relaxed atmosphere, funky artwork, new comfortable mattresses, towelsin winter a log fire in the lounge, often a group playing board games or someone jamming quietly on a guitar. My favourite place to stay.

One of the best backpacker hostels I've been to. Very good amenities, friendly stuff. Shared dorm in the garden is perfect. Cleaned on a daily basis.
Beach and city centre in easy walking distance. Supermarkets 3 min walk.

Told the host we would be arriving late in the evening, host said it wouldnt be a problem, when we arrived he kicked us out, had to book an expensive hotel. Not a very warm welcome to new Plymouth

A hostel with a lot of charm. My room was a bit warm. But beside that, everything was fine. The staff was very kind, would stay here again. Free WiFi.

Wow is all I can say. Ultimate comfort for sleeping, warm clean and welcoming the host is funny welcoming and bent over backwards to ensure we were happy and settled in well. The place is funky clean and the building is amazing. Excellent location with a choice of rooms for all budgets and needs. Will defenitley return - even if its just to experience the comedic welcome and check in. A BBH that any owner should aspire to. Well done ducksndrakes you rock.
