Funny' they served ice in my beer glass. Missed my order. Avoided our table. But had a good ime they sorted it out. Casual

Went here in the weekend. A group of 5. We were seated as soon as we arrived, it was about 2am. Waited for someone to take our order, but were completely ignored. A group of boys after us were served their drinks and orders were taken before us. After waiting for about 20-30 minutes I was fed up and ended up having to call the waitress over, to which she gives attitude and is pissed off that I called her to take our order. Went up to pay before getting our food which, is understandable considering the amount of people that walk out without paying. When paying for my food I specifically asked for no ice cream and have whipped cream instead. She said the deserts were already made but she would change it. Waited another 20-30 mins JUST for desert and drinks. Very poor service and would not recommend going here! The place was not busy either, if they were it would be understandable with the delay. The only person that was apologetic was the person that brought out my correct order! The rest need to learn customer service skills because, that's not on. It doesn't take much to smile - even if you need to fake it!

We had a group of 5 and were seated as soon as we got there which was fine. We waited exactly 35 minutes for a waiter to take our order (all we wanted were drinks and dessert) they hadn't even sent someone to take our drinks order. A couple that had arrived after us got served before us and than when the waiter was going to walk back to the kitchen we had to call out to her and ask her to take our order. When she finally came to our table she was giving us attitude. We were told we had to pay before we eat which was fine (should have told us when we were being seated). The girl who took our order is the one who took our payments as well. When we were paying my sister had ordered the deep fried banana I think it was? It comes with whipped cream and ice cream but she asked if she could get no ice cream and just whipped cream. Another 25 minutes had passed before our desserts arrived and when they did they got my sisters order wrong which means the girl didn't ask to alter my sisters order. I'm giving 2 stars because of the boy who was working he was the only one who apologised to us for the delay of our food and he gave us a jug of water even tho we hadn't asked which I thought was nice. If he hadn't apologised and been polite I would have given this place a 1. Everyone apart from the boy looked grumpy, no one came to check if everything was ok, no one was smiling. Never going to this Denny's again

Service is terrible and food takes a long time to come.
Price is average.

The place has negative vibes, I don't like it. Walking in felt like being in a cop shop instead of a restaurant. Photos of people and trespass notices everywhere. And you have to order, get up, and pay at the counter first. Seriously, haven't they heard of wireless EFTPOS terminals? I understand some people have been leaving without leaving but this practice is very bad for your business.
We saw 2 groups of people leave because they weren't attended to promptly. And personally, we were interested in having dessert after our meal but couldn't bother getting up and paying again, or waiting to pay because there is a queue.
Food was average tasting, the regular fries tasted like mulched paper but the twister fries were so much better.
The manager's customer service skills were at par with that of a shoelace.
If not for one staff member who gave us a lot of smiles I would've just given this place 1 star.response / report this review -

Went early hours of the morning after a Saturday night out. Was put on a dirty table. People who arrived after us were served first. They did not have half the items on the menu. Eventually when we got our food it didn't even taste fresh. Like it had been sitting for ages. Slow service

A little bit pricey but it brings US style diner to New Zealand and offer some local dish too.

Everything is outdated. Waiters are quiet and never check in to see if you need anything else. Food is mediocre at best

It's an OK place to fill up your tummy if you're hungry. Not a suitable place if you're celebrating something and you want a nice place. Food quality is average. One weird thing I noticed was that at the entrance they had photos of people who left and didn't pay for their food with the word shame on them. This made me feel quite weird because it destroyed the look and feel of the place.
