Best all around barbershop experience in Wellington.

I've been seeing Matt for a few years now and he consistently exceeds expectations. Not only great haircuts but great vibes. Matt always goes the extra mile with making sure i can get a time to come in. Their online booking system is super straightforward and easy. Also is a super safe space for any women looking for a cut without the typical judgement and condescending comments etc you can expect from other spots. Would anyone looking to find their forever barber.

I come by to see Matt somewhat regularly, probably more than I need to, just because the vibes and energy of him and the shop are so on. The place is gorgeous, fresh, and Matt does a sick job every time I visit.

Also, would 1000% recommend this place to any wāhine who have difficulties with barbers who aren’t accomodating or straight-up discriminatory. This place will have you sussed and without so much as an inch of the usual awkwardness.

Highly recommend Cuba St Social. I ended up coming here as my hairdresser Matt moved here and I'm so glad he did.

The vibe is incredibly laid back and you can see they've really made an effort to make the waiting area super relaxed and casual (sofas, coffee table, magazines) Makes waiting so much nicer.

The actual place is incredibly spacious as well, which makes a big difference (imagine there is nothing worse than having to step over everyone when cutting hair).

And of course, the cut was as good as it always is (for a very good price).

Hidden gem.
